Okay, I know there are a number of you that attend this event. I thought it'd be cool to have a large Buell group arrive together. The Brew City group has this as our October group ride. There is also a good turnout from the Windy City boys. Here's my proposal.... We all meet at a designated time in Madison. We all have to exit on Mineral Point Rd to get to Pine Bluff. There are a few gas stations at that exit. These would make a good gathering point. So who's in? Oh yeah...what time? I can't remember when the festivities begin. I missed the spring event but last fall I was the fifth or sixth bike there (WAY too early) Dave...I know you're group will be coming in from the west. If you have another meeting spot, we could hook-up with the Iowa boys. Otherwise, we'd just meet you there. Mennis |

Yes we will be there and no I'm not going to crash this time! We are planning on leaving Waterloo about 8am, should put us there about 11:30-12:00. Be easiest to meet in Pine Bluff(that's the first town, right?) then go to Leland from there. Ride to the edge! Dave HD/Buell Cycle Center 4022 Sergeant Rd Waterloo Ia 50701 1-800-342-7539 ext 14 |

Mennis, Charlotte from up north who used to live in Madison. You might meet at the bar at the corner of Mineral Point and Junction Road (a few blocks west of the highway). I am pretty sure it will not be open in the morning, but in Wisconsin you just never know. E-mail me if you want the name of it. I will be there if you tell me what time. Charlotte 2002 M2L |

One time I went I got there around 7am and there were at least 100 bikes already there, and both bars in Pine Bluff were open for business and bathrooms and coffee. Not sure about other meeting places nor times. Might be time for a new rear tire before then, getting kind of slick and hard. Dennis, is the group still thinking of an overnighter that weekend, or did that get changed at the last meeting? Just curious. I've got a full class load this term and will be vacant from the meetings for awhile. MikeJ (Is it possible to have jet lag if you drive instead of fly cross country???) |

I'm not sure we're meeting in Mad-town. The Windy City gang wants to do their own thing (bad experience last year). The Brew City gang is meeting in Oconomowoc and taking super slab to Madison. We should be getting on Mineral Point road around 10:00am. If there's someone we need to meet, let me know. Mennis |

I think Mineral Point Road is the main line west out of Madison heading to Pine Bluff. I think it's also known as "Cr S" and might be near Middleton Junction according to Mapquest.com (I'm getting to hate Mapquest's popups). This link may or maynot work. |

Sorry for the delay....Mineral Point Rd is the same as County S. I beleive the exit is marked as Mineral Point road off of Hwy 12 (also known as "The Beltline" Mennis |

I guess the Windy City guys aren't coming because they heard about this wild man doing combination wheelies and stoppies on a Firebolt last time. It kind of scared them off. |

nah, it was strictly an internal disagreement . . there will be windy city folks there, count on it it's just that they won't all be trying to come up together (kinda sad when you can't keep 12 bikes together on a limited-access highway ) |

I'm hoping to sample a "rainbow of flavors". There's a Lotus Owners Gathering at The Abbey this weekend. My "gratuity" is some track time from whoever feels kind enough to let me drive their car. I know for sure that I'll be in a race version Elan & Espirit Turbo. I'll take plenty of pics. |

Sort of, except dump the VW stuff, put the body on a '59 Healey chassis, slip in a Fiat spyder engine up front, and then go play. Much more true as a replica to the original than the VW pan stuff. Got no time nor space to work on it for awhile. Currently running at 90% certainty of making the Crud Run. See if this link takes you to a pic I posted some time back, click here |
