If anyone is going to bring their bike to the race let me know. I know lots of great roads just an hour south of the track! I can't wait!!!! |

I'm going to have to plan for that next year. I wonder if they will bring AMA races there that weekend as well like Laguna Seca. |

www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com will get you to the tix and the real map. I'm trying to figure out where the "good" seats are! Being a little older than some the stands don't provide the view that some tracks do,it is a shame that central Indiana is flat and there's not more elevation changes, and I'm not real sure that Bernie couldn't have done a better job with the track layout. Still, I'll be there!!! |

This could be a great opportunity for my son and I to go to a GP race! Indiana is a lot closer than Laguna Seca! |

Why do I have a gut feeling this could be bigger than Daytona? |

I have attended Indy 500 for 20+ years and have a great place to stay across from the track. Called today and reserved, room for many bikes too! Seats- are we trying to get a group together? Where? Maybe start a spreadsheet? (Ulywife can you help?) This will be exciting! |

I'll be there on my XB9R, along with a friend on an SV650S. I have family in Indianapolis and north of Indy by 1.5 hrs. I would love to meet up with some buellers while I am down there. Hitting some good local roads would be awesome too. I would love suggestions for some good twisty riding around the area from Marion to Indy, and maybe south of Indy too. Oh yeah, my seats are in Stand J, near the top. I hope to have a good view of turns 10-16. I've never been to the track, so the whole thing will be new to me. |

I LIVE IN SPEEDWAY,INDIANA GUYS,big suggestion, get a room NOW! Hotel rooms will go for in excess of $120 for single occupantcy. There aren't that many hotels in the track area . MANY hotels in the Downtown area, but not many around the track itself. I would suggest Brownsburg area, its a 5 minute ride from Brownsburg to Speedway on I-74 ( Brownsburg is west of Indy) and its close enough to have all the amenities, yet outside of the city. <parking> There are lots around the track, but they fill up FAST.MOST find a good place in the neighborhoods near the track and park in someone's yard. The closer you get to the track the higher the rate. Average is $20 per car, less for bikes, probably around $10. My In- laws live 3 BLOCKS from the track and would be happy to park you. ALSO THERE IS A PARTY BEFORE EVERY RACE AT MY IN-LAWS, 3 BLOCKS FROM THE TRACK. PARTY STARTS FRIDAY NIGHT AND ENDS AFTER THE RACE ON SUNDAY, WE COOK-OUT, WALK GEORGETOWN ROAD AND GENERALLY HAVE A BLAST . ANYONE WHO'D LIKE TO CAMP, PARK OR COME TO THE PARTY CAN DO SO, THEY HAVE ROOM! CONTACT ME FOR DETAILS!!!! Space GOES FAAAAST so make arrangements with me as soon as you can! THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL ROOM AT MY HOUSE AS WELL. I LIVE ABOUT 10 BLOCKS FROM THE TRACK. CONTACT ME I CAN HELP!!!! Anyone wishing to park, camp, rendezvous for a ride or attend the party please contact me through PM. We'll make all arrangements over the phone. I'll co-ordinate arrangements. BUT CONTACT ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, SPACE IS FILLING UP FAST!!! |

I sure hope the track will be better than Fontana or Daytona. I think they run at Fontana, just to say they have a race in SoCal. |

Yeah - just a heads up on the experiences with MotoGP at Laguna Seca... hotels more than quadrupling their rates. Motel 6 for $250 a night WITH A WAITING LIST. Hotels cancelling reservations made a YEAR in advance when they are "outbid" by people willing to pay more. Got ugly, ended up getting "noticed" by local government and courts. Some discussions: http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=23684 http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=23299 And about the legal issues (Monterey County Court): http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=23266 Don't think ANY hotel is going to make nice nice. |

here was the email I recieved from them not too long ago Mr. Jasa, It was the intention of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to mail the tickets out around the middle of July. However, we had some setbacks and had to push back our mail date. Tickets for the 2008 Red Bull Indianapolis GP will be mailed August 13th. Please feel free to call our office at 1-800-822-INDY if you have additional questions. Thank you, IMS - Ticket Office |
