I checked the books, both paper and electronic, no help. Asked Justin, who used to work at Nallin's(NRHS) and he said check with WP Suspension. They made the forks back then. They're in the Netherlands. Court is closer... I'll ask around some more today when I go in to work... Z |

Mutt, did you ever find that washer (rubber seal)? On my S3, it was stuck to the inside of the cap on both forks. If you can't find one, I have a spare set of worn-out S1 forks that I can salvage a washer from that you are welcome to. Update to my question: The trick I was looking for, as mentioned by Smoke, is to not have the bike jacked up with the front wheel off the ground which was how I was trying to do it. With the bike jacked up, the outer tube encloses the end of the spring and the C-clip retainers making it impossible to disassemble. But, quite by accident yesterday, I forgot to jack the bike up and, after removing the cap, lo and behold, there was the end of the spring sticking up with the retainers ready to be removed. Oh well, live and learn! Thanks for the tips everyone. |

I've been asking around for the seal/bumper for the cartridge for my WP forks for years...or at least a replacement cartridge. There is no way in hell I'm replacing the entire leg to get one. The fork works fine but there is no bottom-out bumper on one leg which concerns me some. |

Rick that bumper is a chunk of rubber cut to some shape and installed in the cartridge? perhaps a gasket / seal house can help with that. |

Sounds good. Any tips on where to get the materials? Looks like an elastomer like the older (or cheap) mountain bike forks. |

I think a generic door stop bumper from the hardware store may work well. I just have to enlarge the center hole and grind the outside to fit. Thanks for the suggestions. |
