Jerry Johnson of Harleys House of Harleys has agreed to again have one more ride of the season to Palomar Mountain before the snow sets in. Here are the details: When: Sunday, November 18, 2001 Where: Leave Harleys House of Harleys at 9:00 AM in Oceanside (on Pacific Coast Highway south of town on the right hand side...you can't miss it!) OR Inland Empire/LA riders......... Arrive at the Pechanga Foodmart on Pala Rd. in time to leave there at 9:30 AM. To get there, exit the I-15 at Highway 79 East, proceed east on 79, then turn right onto Pala Rd. Proceed south on Pala Rd. to the Foodmart which is located at the Reservation casino. Jerry says this will not be as long as the iron butt run we had exactly one year ago (if you remember the Candy Cottage run), but will be equally as fun! I did this run last year and it is really a great ride. So, hope to see everyone there. Email me if you have questions. Scott Page |

Allright guys, it's way to quiet here! Wednesday, November 28 Buell is having a party at the world famous Troubador. Rolling Stone Magazine, Subaru and Buell are promoting Ryan Adams (not Bryan Adams). Apparently this guy has the hit single "New York, New York". Anyhow Buell wants to see us there in force. Call me or Ernie Snair at 818-246-5618 ext. 128 to reserve freebie tickets, parking, photos, and more info. |

Considering that there might be some ASBN Buellers coming, and that others may want to get there before 10 am to line up for the Firebolt demo rides, I don't think there is going to be an organized ride on Saturday. But, here's my suggestion. If anyone wants to gather for coffee/breakfast early, say around 8 and ride a few blocks to the show at 9, there's a Denny's at 6th & Long Beach Blvd. For more info on what we might be doing, read this SCAB Night Reminder and come to the SCAB meeting tonight at the Press Box. I'm sure this subject will pop up. Sparky 96S1, 98S3 |

Wow, it's almost 2002 already! Jerry Johnson of Southern California Buell never rest, and has come up with a new ride and route for the New Year. This time, he promises we will leave Oceanside using a different set of back roads to reach Temecula. If you don't know De Luz Rd., you will after this trip! Then, the group will head to Julian, the Mesa Grande, and of course, Break Down Alley (S-2). If you've never ridden around Palomar Mountain (not up the mountain), then this will prove to be fun, open country route for new riders. When: January 6, 2002 Where: Leaves Oceanside Harleys House of Harleys/So. Cal. Buell at 10:00 AM. OR: Meet at the Mobile Station in Temecula (at the bottom of the ramp of I-15 and Highway 79) at 12 NOON. Hope everyone has a nice holiday. Looks like next year is going to be a huge year for Buell. I just got my copy of Motor Cyclist for Feb. 2002 in the mail and the XB is on the front cover, and they LOVE it. It is a great write up of the bike. Imagine, the press praising a US built bike! Songdog Fall Rally, Sat October 5th. All the usual great stuff you'd expect from the Songdog: the best Tri-tip steak anywhere, all you can eat & drink, camping under the stars, drinking with your buddies, way cool backroads to enjoy. Reservations required, $60. 1-800-766-2461 or online reservations. FB asks over at the Calif BRAG Tour page, "How's the road leading to the campground?" Ballinger Cyn Rd is paved from Hwy 33 with some loose gravel in front of the ranch, then a hard pack dirt road with a 20' sand section leading to a hard pack dirt climb to the campground mesa. Not too challenging, just be careful over the sandy part. Buells handle the whole thing like a dirt bike. Harley dressers on the other hand... I'm looking for something to take the place of the rained out Bonneville World of Speed event. This helps. Sparky |

>>>>I'll be the one on the Buell. Not so fast there Sparkster.....you could be FINED for not listing Team Elves on your "Motorcycling Links Page" and loose an XB for the weekend and end up having to work to pay off all the patch fines. Of all people.....geeesh |

Hey Sparky, I'm all for it! Post what time is settled on and I'll be there Sat. Dec. 7th. I was there at that same Denny's last year before the show, and met a few Buelligans on the way in. That wasn't you by chance was it? Your profile pic does look familiar. I was on a black cafe' Sportster and met up with a few other guys. Greetings to all ya'll Buell fans. Yes, it's me... drSteve... and I'm STILL down here in SoCal (hanging out with Don Savage-Teen-Ho Ok, so it's like really late and we're tired and we have to get up early tomorrow so that Don can buy his lovely wife a new Blast! That having been said - I'll get to the point so's we can go to sleep. For all you pussies that couldn't make it to Palomar last week, it was suggested that I make it known that I am still in the area and am again practicing recreational vaginacology. Oh yeah, we're gonna do some more riding on Sunday in and around the San Bernardino/San Gabriel mountains region. I can't express how much fun I had last week and can only hope to see some of you out this way on Sunday! S.Lee-Z.: Dude, we'll hook up once i get back up North. EBear: Let's rock again! ...if not, I hope to ride with you and Fireman Jim after Turkey-Day. Ferris: Please ask Fearless if you can come out and play with us for just a half-day! Gotta sleep! drSteve (who the !@#$ is THAT?) |

We've got one more thing to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. It only took 4 years, but. . . Balcom Canyon Road officially reopens today at 2:30 pm!!! Full story: www.insidevc.com/vcs/county_news/article/0,1375,VCS_226_1547630,00.html. Hwy 33 goes up the far mountain. A proper break-in for the new road's in order. Say from Ventura Buell, over Balcom to 150, up & down 33 this Thanksgiving weekend. This road was to be featured on that fateful rainy day of the Calif BRAG ride, if it were ready. Oh well, now we can do it. Sparky |
