Treadmarks, Thanks for making it a little tougher to get through my day. I have been thinking about the Hyper as my next bike for some time. Those pictures may have pushed me over the edge. Keep the updates coming. |

Customer of mine that works at another shop, showed up with one.... They loaned it to him while his wife's bike was in the shop.... (his bike is fine) He threw the keys at and said go take it around the block.... I showed him my filthy bike. He asked where I got all the MUD, I pointed to the vacant lot next door ... I said I will just take her for a putt through the parking lot if you dont mind. You should have seen his eyes when came back and she was splattered Tooo much damn fun. But definitely not a replacement for the City-X |

In hope you give us a comparison review of the Hyper vs Uly. |

One thing not mentioned so far is the fact that the Hyper has five fewer horsepower than the Multi. So if you can tolerate the Multi styling, you get a bit more performance. |

HJey Gotj, The difference is in the airbox. A couple of minutes with a hole saw and it is the same. I am looking for info that will let me get the hole in the right location to maximize flow but also prevent water from entering the induction system. |

Tread, Yep, that's it. I understand there is an aftermarket airbox that does that. Do you know if that's true? If you could get a picture of the revised box, it could be analogous to the '06 to '07 Uly airbox mod. |

There is no way I'm losing the hyper. It does so many things that the uly can't while performing like an xr 650 on steroids. I will keep my brothers hip to the mods and the farkels as the spirit takes over. Badweb is like 10 times the size of ducati.ms, so it may take a while to get things rolling. Remember, there is a reason that the duck hypermotards beat the ulys at pikes peak a few weeks ago. |

Dayyyuuuummm Is that your actual bike at that little place off of Old Cutler down near you? We were eyeing those at Fudds that night but I didn't see that coming. Holy sheep sheet, from Next Movie, I say that too often. |

I don't imagine that is going too far off road, I could chase you through those back roads on my zx10. |

Good job Treadmarks! I Love those bikes. I've had a Jones for a 999s lately. Trying to fight it off... must.... resist... I wish Buell would come out with a modern tube frame, they look too cool!!! |

The switch that I am pointing to above, will let you cycle through the menu functions of the console. Speedo, tach, temps, voltage, lap timer, etc... |

Is that your actual bike at that little place off of Old Cutler down near you? Yes thats it George. I thought I could get some good hi res shots but a storm came up. I will try again after a few mods. |

Ooooh...why did I read this thread. My local dealer has an "S" model with 3500 miles on it and he said he'd "make me a deal" on it. He's got about 5 hypers there, and he needs to move some with the economy being down and the '09s coming. I love the bike, and it's pretty comfortable too. Nice relaxed riding position. I can't really complain about the lack of a windshield, since nothing much has a windshield to me since I'm so tall. I sold my Monster, and I've hated myself for it. Only another Ducati could make up for that act of stupidity. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up like the sound of an uncorked Ducati. It's me most beautiful sound in the world, and the bikes perform so damn good. I just love them. |

Treadmarks, Congratulations on the Hypermotard ! I was up in N.C. this past weekend riding my S. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up like the sound of an uncorked Ducati. It's me most beautiful sound in the world, and the bikes perform so damn good. I just love them. Chad, My advice to you -- DO NOT listen to one with the(big bux$$) Termignoni 2-1 system ! |

One thing not mentioned so far is the fact that the Hyper has five fewer horsepower than the Multi. So if you can tolerate the Multi styling, you get a bit more performance. Don't forget, the Hypermotard weighs 40 pounds less than the Multistrada..... So much for more performance from the Multistrada. Plus the 2-1 Termignoni exhaust knocks off another 15 pounds, AND brings the HP back up over that of the Multistrada. |

Plus the 2-1 Termignoni exhaust knocks off another 15 pounds, AND brings the HP back up over that of the Multistrada. Wouldn't it take a 50 pound weight advantage to offset the 5 horsepower? Anyway, your point is well taken. They make a Termignoni exhaust for the Multi too that would save some weight and give it even MORE horsepower. The chassis are essentially the same so the 40 pounds would make a big difference in the twisties but they would be quite close in pure acceleration. Get one of each, I say. |
