Hmm... 399 is December and 431 is November. I'll have to PM some folks to verify the build dates as this would be the first occurrence of non-sequential vin/dates. | ||

Ah I see what it is. May have been a bad assumption on my part. Josh_ posted his vin as 3XX and a build date of Dec 08. I assumed that meant Dec 08 builds began in the high 300's and put 399 in for his vin number. Josh_ can you confirm you have a vin number in the 300's and a Dec build date? I've been lurking here wondering.And now i'll be pegged a troll,but i HAVE to ask.Why do you guys' care about this number? Please,i KNOW you aren't going to state COLLECTIBLE low number editions.But what other purpose does this serve? I'd think that the later the numbers the MORE sorted the design? | ||

we care because we can. it helps to track the evolution of the bike, to see which bikes are more prone for which problems, etc. we also do it to make you wonder why. | ||
