has anyone have this happen, the check light came on leaving work today, got home ,turned off ignition & the fuel pump stayed running, turned key back on & "fuel system error"was on display.i know the pump will stay on for max 10 minutes, but was still running after showered & read the paper(@25 minutes),disconnected the battery, for 20 minutes, fuel pump still stayed on.pulled codes p0628 & p0193.even disconnected the ecu & pump still running.dropped off at dealer, dealer said it can stay on for 30 minutes.this is 2nd time happened, first time,no problem found & needed reflash.(thought reflash allowed only 10 minutes fuel pump on).

The pump will run until the required pressure is achieved. And after re-flash, that should be limited to 10 minutes max.
That means either the pressure sensor is not functioning correctly or there's a leak somewhere preventing proper pressure. That might point to a cracked fuel rail or loose fittings.

A remote diagnosis (like this one) is obviously suspect. Hopefully it sparks some ideas.

Code P0628 fuel pump control circuit low. Its possible there is fuel pump wire grounding out that is keeping the pump running. (BN/Y)
The fuel pump should never run continuously after the key is off. It will come on in short bursts for 10min after key off.
If it is a chaffed wire, it will happen again, take back to the dealer and have them run the flow chart for the code.

I can only speak from my own experience and my bike is an XB so I'm not sure if this relates because I don't know if Buell uses the same pump for both bikes.

My pump used to run continuously.
It was like that since the bike was practically new. I thought it was normal.

A couple months ago the ign fuse started blowing when I turned the key on. It turned out to be not one but TWO chaffed wires on the pump inside the frame.

After fixing both wires my pump now shuts off after 5 seconds like it did when new.

She also runs a lot better at slow speeds at low rpms now since fixing it.

I'd wager you have a chaffed pump wire and the other one is next to go.

It would be a good idea to have the dealer take a look since it's under warranty.
