I have a brand new 2008 Honda CBR600RR never titled with full warranty. Just picked it up from a dealer in Texas. I want a 1125R. I want to trade for a pristine example with no running problems i.e. stumbling, over heating, etc...If you want to trade, give me a call. The bike is located just north of Nashville, TN. 615-476-9100. I'll have pictures next week when it is delivered. Thanks, Frank.

Good luck finding one of us to part with even an imperfect one!!! Sorry to rub salt in it but I had a CBR, years ago and despite minor problems with the 1125, the CBR couldn't hold the proverbial candle to a buell, much less an 1125. I feel your pain, impulse buys get me every time...doh

Just return it for a $500 loss or whatever and buy the Buell. HD Washington still has 1 new 08 1125r for $9,000.

Ooooh....would love a CBR for a track hoe...but my Gixxer is holding down those duties.

Sadly, I don't have an 1125R either. But I had a lot of fun dicing it up with Tom Bumpus of Bumpus HD/Buell on the track Saturday. I'd get past him, then he'd use that dang monster motor to shoot past me. ARRGH! I hate being out gunned. : )

Wanna see some irony?

This was no "impulse buy". I bought it to resell. I have a dealers license. I hear so much belly achin' here and thought maybe someone was ready to trade for a Honda. You know the ones that everyone loves. I am a buell nut so I know all about Buells. I currently own 2 tubers (been ridin' em for over 9 years). I will own an 1125R eventually. Ride safe, Frank.

That is an "internet special" exaggeration. There's a lot of problem free 1125R running around out there. Mine is one. I will say it once more..

Judging the quality of the 1125R in this forum is akin to judging the general health of the population by observing an emergency room.

Sorry for the rant, but I am sick and tired reading blanket judgment that all 1125Rs are problematic. Some are, most are not.

Oh and, yes sorry Frank, mine's not for sale.

Hey again Frank,

I'm probably one of those guys doing most of the "belly-aching"!

I think it goes with the territory, but, from the sound of things, good luck getting one of us to let go of one of these little beauties! I'm having a "blast" (maybe a little pun intended) with mine!

Mine isn't goin' anywhere unless I'm on it!

Ride yours safe, Tracy

+1

Not only do I not have any of the 'inherent' problems reported on this site but I never have had any of the problems. Picked mine up in January so - according to this site - This thing should be in the junk heap by this point.

And oh, mines not up for trade either..... sorry.

Ron

I picked mine up in January too.
Mine is one of those rare bikes that has had EVERY posted problem.
In fact it's back to the dealer (again, sigh) this saturday for the rear turn signal and front brake line issues (second trip for that).

All the same, you'll have to pry my cold dead fingers off it to get that bike away from me.

I really like my 1125R and wouldn't consider parting with it. I've had some issues with it, but everything falls within the scope of the nominal problems of a new model in its first year of production. I have an 'early adopter' type of personality, so I guess that's why I'm comfortable.

I have a couple other bikes, frequent other boards peculiar to these brands, and see issues discussed with each of them in the fashion of those discussions here. We Buell owners aren't the only motorcycle owners with complaints. Spend time on boards devoted to other brands and you'll see the parallels.

I take a lot--most--of the nay-saying here for simple venting, part of the human condition. Very often, I'll take a look at a person's profile to see if they own the item they're disparaging--or praising. In both cases, if the person doesn't own the article, I take it their comments issue from their desire to own it. That could be wrong, but according to my experience it's the most likely explanation.

Some of the posts I read here irk me, frankly. But I think that's what at least some of them are meant to do. People's agendas are worn on their sleeves, all of us wear ours that way. It doesn't take long to figure out who's got the poison dagger, though it might not always be apparent why.

Recalls and the changes planned for the '09 model speaks volumes about the short comings of the current 1124r product. the quality can be judged by these "facts" alone. 2nd degree burns to the legs of several riders, now there's an emergency room headline!

My wife got a 2nd degree burn from riding her Dyna Superglide. Should it be indicted and judged as dangerous as well?

Doer - where did she touch to get a burn?

I think there's some merit in the burns on 1125's through the frame - that's a part of the bike which you're supposed to touch.

I got a really bad second degree burn on my Sportster, but that's because arm bumped into the header.

<sigh> got my new issue of Motorcycle Consumer News last night. The 5th gear recall was prominently displayed on the recall bulletin summary page....right along with the Ducati recall (disintegrating rear sprockets on the 1098) and three different BMW recalls. Also a good article on the 'grenading' problem with the Beemer rear drives - you know, the one the factory has yet to acknowledge.

This _is_ a Buell forum, right...?

Xl1200r..
She did not touch anything and that's the point. She had a burn on her calf after riding a full day in Idaho heat (100F). She was properly attired with riding pants and calf high boots.

So have you had any problems with yours? You are always on here noting these so called "shortcomings" so you must have some personal experience right? You do own one right? No? Then stop being a troll and stick to whatever it is you do have experience with.

Hahahaha. Did I speak an untruth? Please correct me if I have.

My experience with the r is limited. Earlier in the year I was at Miami-Homestead for an Inside Pass track day. When my time came to ride the 1125r all 3 were out of service with 'fuelling and electrical issues" and were to be "returned to the factory for analysis". I was very disappointed but got over it after a couple more sessions on my Daytona675.

No Troll here, I've over 35K on the 2 Buells I've owned in the past. Wish the r lived up to the marketing promises, I'd consider Buell ownership again. I'm here so I'll know when the r is ready for prime time, then I'll take another look.

Reality sucks..... sometimes. Get over it, take another sip, and move along.

I was treated for advanced throat cancer 3 years ago and the Dr. gave me a very slim chance of survival. Yep I'm still here and will bitch all I want!

"Yea! I LOVE it when guys chirp from the sidelines".

Please explain why you feel I "chirp from the sidelines. Is it because I'm willing to wait for the r to be all that was promised by Buell marketing before I decide if I can live with another Buell?

No, your experience with the "R" is nonexistent, not "limited".

"No Troll here, I've over 35K on the 2 Buells I've owned in the past"

And since neither of those Buells were 1125R's and all you do is post negative stuff about a bike you have ZERO experience with, that's called being a troll. Don't like being called out as the troll you are? Well get over it. Stop trolling and move along

"I've simply stated the fact"
No, you have stated other's opinions and experiences. Experiences that you, yourself lack. Claiming that the 1125R is somehow defective because the factory introduced improvements in the newer design is ignorant on your part. Thats kinda how this stuff is supposed to work but I am sure that you can't understand that.

"Prove me wrong, accept the r for what it is"
I prove you wrong every f*ckin day as do the majority of other posters on this site that actually own and ride the bike in question. I ride mine and enjoy it immensly and I have yet to be burned, yet to have any FI problems and have yet to have any of the other reported issues that some owners have. See, the difference between me and you is I know what I am talking about because I own and ride the bike. Your "experience" is limited to what amounts to seeing one in the showroom but you come on the 1125R forum and act like an expert simply because you can point to some problems that OTHER people claim to have had. What you need to do is stop reading about other people's experiences and ride one for yourself. Well, that would require a bit of initiative on your part and it's apparent you lack that. Tell ya what, take the easy route and just whine and complain about something you know nothing about......oooops, too late. I see you are already doing that.

"defective"..... your word, not mine.

"I know what I am talking about"..... no you don't, you are blinded by your lust for your r.

"problems that OTHER people claim to have had"....... I believe most of the folks here are honestly reporting the issues they have and that their "claims" are true. Buell has confirmed the existence of problems through recalls and changes to the '09 model.

I'm happy for you and hope you continue to be in lust with your r from now till ever after. Now go take another sip, no a big gulp to celebrate your relationship with the perfect mate.

"It must be nice to experience the world through the eyes of other people."

Read this carefully, hope you're able to understand the point.

While you're sitting there, reflecting on other people's experiences, imitating people that know how to ride, and experiencing the joys that your keyboard brings you, understand that MOST 1125R owners will simply be enjoying their motorcycle.
