Et, You been on a long ride or something? We've been yammering about the Buell® Ulysses® Outdoorsman® Top and Side Cases for weeks now. |

I still like the older ones better I think, don't the new side cases look smaller and the top case a lot bigger? Anyway if anyone wants to sell their old ones let me know... |

Yes, the new sides appear smaller and the top larger. They're right off the XB12XP police bike, designed for "narrower profile" for "tight spaces" in police use, according to the lit we have received. Top box is larger presumably to hold comm gear, etc. I like the new bags because they advertise them as having "keyless" open/close capability. Just wonder if they fit the same racks as the old-style X/XT bags... |

They WILL fit the existing hoops that fit the Buell/H&B Journey bags, but they will mount backwards. The Buell racks have the mounting latch in the front. The H&B bags have the mounting latch in the rear. This from the H&B fitment tech. I found out when looking at the Junior bags before the Police bags came out. |

They WILL fit the existing hoops that fit the Buell/H&B Journey bags, but they will mount backwards. The Buell racks have the mounting latch in the front. The H&B bags have the mounting latch in the rear. Correct, I put my Buell Journeys on my brother's 950 Adventure and they fit fine, I'm assuming his KTM/H&B lunch pails would also fit since I don't recall trying it. Both of those designs are reversible, the Juniors are not. And I'm sure Buell used the Journey with a front-mounted clasp to get the front of the cases to clear the passenger pegs. IIRC, the Junior cases on the Buell with a rear-mounted clasp are mounted farther rearward than the Journeys necessitating that funky-looking rear turn signal relocation. I'm assuming then that the X/P racks are extended rearward to get the non-reversible Juniors to clear the pegs. 'Course I could be full of it... |

If you want to put Junior bags on an Ss; get the mounting kit for the Lightning. You'll need to make up a couple of brackets to replace the front brackets that the bag frames mount to. Hepco & Becker says the kit will fit the Lightning Long, but it won't. One other point; to mount the Juniors on a Lightning or Lightning Long, you'll have to remove the passenger pegs. Something to consider if you ride two up at all. |
