For street / track tires, I have become a big fan of both the Pirelli Diablos and Corsa IIIs. I'm not sure yet about how either of them wear, but I can say with a lot of confidences that the Michelin Pilot Powers wear incredibly well and I have had no issues dragging knees, footpegs, sidestands and the front of the muffler on the M2 I used to have them on. They are my current tire of choice. |

I like messing around in the wet, but I wasn't drifting on purpose on our last rain ride, Tim, not at those speeds on those roads. One day we're going to look back on what we did on those wet roads and wonder what the hell were we thinking. |

I just replaced my second Diablo Corsa III rear with a Diable Strada. I was bitterly disappointed with the 2nd rear Corsa III. I got 10,000 miles out of the first and only 6500 miles from the second. Most would say that was good on both fronts, but the expectations were high after the first 10,000 miler. |

Who doesn't intentionally drift, esp. on wet roads? drifting's riding! |

I'm very pleased with the Diablo Stradas. I'm on my second set. I got about 13,000(!) miles from the first set. That was mostly freeway commuting, but I'm getting good mileage from this set, too. Wet and cold performance is excellent. If you'd like to stop by and check them out, I'd be willing to let you take a test ride (might involve a stop at the pub). |

So many choices..... AHHHHHIts making me crazy. Im picking up tires on Wednesday. I just don't know what kind yet. Currently torn on Pilot power 2ct and now considering the Stradas. Thanks for the offer Ravensmith but I don't think I have the time. Love to hook up and ride sometime though. |

Mick, What tires were you using before the Roadsmarts? I have spent a lot of time and energy setting my bike up for Dunlop Qualifiers, so I would like to switch to a tire that had similar handling but just more wear. I see that the Roadsmarts have deeper tread, but I wonder about the profiles. Any thoughts? |

1998 M2 Cyclone, I use Bridgestone BT 14's and love them and average 3,000 miles of robust riding wear, and their relativly inexpensive, dont hop or loose traction, Iv got boogers clear down to within a quarter inch from the edge, lets just say I run out of clearance before I run out of grip |

Jon, I also used the Qualifiers and find them similar to the Roadsmarts! They do a great job! The real test will be to see how many miles I get out of them but first impression is great! |

Uhmmm... I was going to say something but now I'm stuck on tramp's post.... Pilot Powers on my other bike, love them. People rave over the pirellis too, I always liked my older battalaxes. Never been a big metz fan though I know they are good tires. Hard to go wrong with any of those but lots of pilot power lovers have been swayed by the pirellis diablos. |

I'll throw my 2 cents in for the Diablo Strada. I have about 5,000 on mine and I think I should get another 4-5 out of them. Plus they are really good when its dry and great when its wet. |

I just ride the sh1t out of whatever is on sale at the nearby Kai dealer at the moment that 5 steel threads are showing... I could care less who makes 'em or what they're rated at, and, frankly, I have NO clue as to what's on there, now. |

Well I got them mounted today. I could not believe how easy the Buell is to work on. It took me about 30 minutes to do the whole deal and I've never removed a motorcycle wheel before! I work at a tire shop so mounting the tire wasn't a problem. I didn't balance them but it rides smooth as glass.

According to many sources, you won't feel an out of balance motorcycle tire unless it's pretty bad. I guess they just wear funny and you get reduced life. Can someone confirm or deny this? |

I've always been made to understand exactly that, Thump. In fact- take a look at where they put the wights each change-usually the same spots, which means the rim, itself, is out of balance. |

I guess they just wear funny and you get reduced life. Can someone confirm or deny this? Tires will change balance as they wear anyway. How do you know that your tires are not out of balance right now? In fact- take a look at where they put the wights each change-usually the same spots, which means the rim, itself, is out of balance. My wheels had no weights on it to start with. Not sure that really means anything. |

I checked the balance on my wheel when I put the tire on this weekend. It was out of balance where the shop balance the wheel last time. I lined the dot up with the light spot and still added weight to the light spot when balancing I'm aware of this which is why I generally have which ever tires are on the front of my car balanced when rotating the tires... |

I ride every day. Rain or shine. I like my stuff to be reliable. I hear a funny noise, I fix it. Must of my love for Buell comes from the fact that I'm a nerd. I love technology! I've spent enough time in service departments watching my customer's upset because they didn't maintain their car and had issues. I spend alot of money buying a car, changing the oil, tires, etc I want to the most out of my money. |
