I am about to hit 30k on my XB9s. Not bad for working from home. It's been quite reliable. I've gone through 2 sets of wheel bearings...that's all, no other issues to speak of. I have to say, no other motorcycle has held my interest like my Buell & I've owned quite a few. For those of you that have passed 30k, 40k, 50k, etc. Is there anything that I should inspect or replace? Are there any parts that are likely to wear out from high mileage? |

How did you notice the wheel bearings going bad? Were there any symptoms or did you just notice while changing tires? |

Check motor mounts, belt, rotors, brakes and the such. You might want to go over the entire bike and put a wrench on everything just to make sure nothing is loose. |

How did you notice the wheel bearings going bad? Were there any symptoms or did you just notice while changing tires? When the first set failed there was a noticeable wobble in the front, those were replaced under the recall. For the second set, when I took my hands off the bars the bike would not track straight (I found out that one of the bearings was bad). I wasn't sure what the problem was. When balancing a new front tire, I could feel roughness in the bearings. Now it tracks straight as an arrow again. |
