I was playing tourist yesterday and went to all the local shows for the Sturgis Rally (I live in Spearfish about 15 miles from Sturgis). Went to the big dealer show in Rapid City and saw the 09 Buells. I gotta say those new colors are pretty sweet in person, and the CR looks great. Lots of activity at their display (which I loved to see). I talked to one of the guys there who is the manager of technical research and support. We talked about my 08 and the issues I (we've) all been having. He said the new fuel map will take care of the majority of the issues we are seeing. He also said it would be possible to retrofit the relocated 02 sensors and targeted injectors as well, but it wouldn't be as much of an improvement as the map. Sounded like good news to me! Anyway, just thought I would pass on the info. | ||

Do you have any pictures? I just put a deposit down on a CR last night and have yet to see "real world" pictures of one. | ||

He said it would be available "very soon" but couldn't give me an exact date. I didn't take any pictures but plan on riding out there again tonight or tomorrow. I'll take some pics and post then. | ||

Any news when the re-map will be available to us? 2008 Model Year 1125R Upgrades: We will be providing updated engine spark and fuel maps for 2008 1125R models. These updated maps offer several customer benefits, including improved drivability below 6000rpm, even crisper throttle response, improved heat management, and a significant improvement to fuel economy. We expect these updates to be available in early fall and will be part of a Product Program. Additional information, including a detailed list of items that will be included in the Product Program, will be communicated in a Service Bulletin as details become available. | ||

Harlan(Fresnobuell), being some people will be notified, as most dealers will be, with a service bulletin do you know what if anything us consumers will get? Is it up to us, the dealer, or in the case of the transmission recall, we will get a recall notice in the mail? Thanks for your input, always good. Bob | ||

Dealers get the service bulletin on HDnet I believe. Often this Service Bulletin get buried in something else and dealers don't find it and consequently do not know about it. Since this is not a recall, Buell has no obligation to send a notification to owners. The way this probably will come down is that we find out about it on BadWeB and then we call the dealers to get an appointment arranged. | ||

Bob, See the above post by Asbjorn. I think that summarizes it pretty well. As long as we have the Badweb, I don't think that we will miss much--I know I am giving my service manager the heads up about alot of things 1125r related. It is a good thing that we have knowledgeable people here that work in HD/Buell shops and can give us the heads up on things like this.... I hope this second re-flash is the ticket! | ||

I recently read a quote that summed up my buying a 2009 instead of a 2008 1125: "The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese in the trap!" Good luck to all you guys waiting on this flash. It sure sounds promising, and I'd think that Buell would be pretty sure of themselves given how they're touting it. | ||
