When riding, the bike seems to "thump" quite a bit more around 10 to 20 miles an hour. The speed limit on one road I am cruising on is 15. I've tried to hold her steady at 10 in first gear, 15 in first, 20 in first, and 20 in second, and the bike really gets a good case of the thumps. Is this normal? |

Yes your lugging it - if you must travel that slow - partially engage the clutch for the first gear 10mph and shift down to first for the 20mph - EZ |

Partially engage? As in hold the clutch lever so that it partially is catching? |

Partially engage? As in hold the clutch lever so that it partially is catching? - yes - but it would be better to go about 5mph faster. EZ |

okay, cool. I was reading the Buell Manual for it, and I thought it said to shift to 2nd at 15, so that's what I was doing. Seamed like it was still pretty low in the power band but being a total noob, I didn't want to blow it up over revving it. I'll just stay in 1st and go 20. Thanks! |

Thats for break in - if your bike has less than 500 miles then follow that procedure, then after that enjoy the power band. EZ |

You cant over rev the Blast (in gear). It has a rev limiter. Twist and enjoy! Watch the oil, check when hot, between the lines is NOT a quart, add very little at a time. |
