Awfhand - Do the boot - its easy and there are instructions here and at my group which you can find through my home page - link located in my profile - this is too easy a thing to leave to the hands of a bored mechanic who could goof it up. EZ |

If ProSeries cams will void the warranty, then its likely any other exhaust will also void the warranty with the possible exception of the ProSeries exhaust (I'm doubtful). Jetting would also void the warranty, but its unlikely they would even check unless you really screwed it up. Sometimes its up to the dealer on what they will warranty and it sounds as if your dealer isnt taking any chances. |

RE: gas cap Mine does that too sometimes, seems to be when I let it sit a week or so with low fuel level. Lubricating the latch helps a little, but getting the parts inside the tank requires shaking the bike side to side to splash gas on the bottom of the cap. If gas is really low and it won't come loose, you could remove the tank and flip it over to juice up the seal and/or latching parts. |

Re: the gas cap caper Danko, the GSXR came before the Blast - a friends bike. I couldn't even lift the thing up it was so heavy Do I want to know what the tree comment refers to??? Wolffsoul - thanks for the offer. If I can't get this thing to do what it's supposed to I may take you up on that. Berkshire - that might be what happened. I had not been able to ride for a couple of weeks. I took the compartment off with the hex screws as EZ suggested and got the cap off. Put everything back together and again - decided it didn't want to come back off. So... I decided to take it a bit further. To my surprise, the spring decided to take flight. Luckily I found the pieces. Well, I got it to cooperate but I don't trust the seal - seems unstable. Also, it doesn't "click" when locked but does when I unlock it. Ideas?

ideas? inspect back side of black plastic part for breakage or wear, if OK then lubricate moving parts and reassemble cap, then verify "Buell" twist tab on top and black plastic part are securely joined and will turn without binding or excess friction. If OK, then test-fit cap with piece from top of tank & check operation. If OK, reassemble tank & install cap - it should work. If not, disassemble and try to locate problem. |

All they really need is a bit of rehabing and tightening up of the bulb holders - to better hold the bulbs and stay more firmly in the housing - don't give up - tweeking is part of making it right when the vendor doesn't. EZ |

"you guys were right about those dominator headlights. tweak them a bit and they fail"Huh? I must have missed something. Besides a small crack in the middle where they join (from pulling them on and off too many times) I havent had any problems. Whats the problem supposed to be? |
