I don't really know why I don't have the frame heat issue that many others have. I know mine gets hot. I ride in 90-100 deg weather and sometimes sit in traffic for extended periods of time.

Maybe my b@lls are too big to allow my legs to grip the tank. Maybe my belly is too big and it keeps me away from the airbox. Maybe my butt is too small (narrow) to easily allow my legs to come together around the frame/ airbox (None of the above are likely except the belly one).

I could post pictures (8x10 glossy with arrows and a paragraph on the back (name that movie/ title song)) but that would only serve to embarrass me, and maybe others by showing body parts that are best left covered and only shown b/t consenting adult parties of the opposite gender.

My point about all this is, I feel your pain and discomfort but..... my solution has been to just not grip those hot-Hot-HOt-HOT areas of the M/C with any of my tender and near/ dear parts of my anatomy.

Besides in 95+ temps, there ain't a M/C made that doesn't get uncomfortable because of the heat. Yes some are worse than others. Just think of it as free birth control, even sanctioned by most religious honchos.

All of this conjecture about heat transfer, liquid filled frames versus non filled etc is just that, conjecture. You know how to avoid getting burned. You learned that probably when you were still in diapers. Do I have to remind you or do you still insist on putting your finger into that flame?

I think it's time for me to wrap my legs around my trusty steed and rein her over to lunch.

Time2Roll.

"You can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant..."

What do I get for identifying the Arlo Guthrie song reference?

Stop on by and get your free ice cold adult beverage. You must be old enough to drink if you knew that reference!

I used 2 listen to it on my 8 track player along with Fleetwood Mac. Loved how they "looped" so you could leave the stereo on all night and listen to music while I slept. I got the 8 track when my dad upgraded to cassette. He introduced me to Arlo Guthrie at the tender age of ~10. Good times & good memories for sure.

Neil that reminds me of a stop U4euh and I made a few weeks ago while out on a ride. It was a particularly hot Saturday afternoon in NC. Pulled into a road side ice cream stand in the middle of nowhere.

As we got off the bikes the fans on the 1125R kept screaming after I had shut her down. An elder gentleman and his wife were setting at a picnic table just in front of us. His wife motioned to my bike and said something to her husband. He laughed pointed at my bike and said something back to her only to promptly get slapped on the arm.

After we got our ice cream and sat down, the elder gentlemen came over and asked what kind of bikes those were. We told him they were Buells. With a grin on his face, he pointed at the 1125R and said "When you pulled up my wife said that thing looks hot". He then said "I told her if she had been between his legs as long as that bike had she'd be hot too!"

Glad you all appreciate my sense of humor too.

As I mentioned there is a solution, even if it's temporary. Maybe a better fix is in the cards with the next map.
