Read down far enough and it mentions that it is for Buells also.

I'm curious... I am planning on shelling out for a Zumo 550 but wonder what advantages would I get with this one over the 550? Is it going to be a better price I wonder? How much are the 550's in the US and where could I get the best price?

It is a 550 rebadged Zumo, the only benefit is the pre-loaded dealerships.

I am sure you can find one for less than $895.00 out on the free market.

that's a great price there krassh. of course i'm always leary about ordering stuff on line, especially electronics. so i would wonder how legit this place is. i found out from my daughter that the buell zumo now featured cost them 639 plus you add 10% and tax and that's employee cost. so you couldn't go wrong with a 601 price.

I bought mine from PCNation and the service was among the best I have ever had for an online purchase.

Electronincs (in my personal experience) are a lot like cameras. I buy LOTS of Nikon equipment and if I see someone pricing stuff much below J&R, Adorama and B&H I know there is something else going on.

If Adorama id $4,999 for a De and Broadway photo has it for $3,500 I know the deal is literally "too good to be true".

I buy LOTS of stuff on line and was thrilled with PCNation and the Zumo 550.

DO NOT GET FROM PerferredPhoto.com!
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Broadway_Phot o

Got mine from PCnation like court, it was $650ish back in march, currently $646.80
http://www.pcnation.com/web/details.asp?item=6G033 0&GEN0=Y

I am waiting for the Buell/HD Zumo to hit the dealers, to see what mounting equipment and junk it comes with.

If it sounds to good to be true. . . .

I'm driving through Brooklyn the other day . . . guy is coming toward me in the other lane/direction, flashing his lights and waving out the window for me to stop. I pull along side him and he points to the back of the van and asks "wanna buy a complete home entertainment system with surround sound cheap?"

I told him . . . as I picked up the Motorola walkie-talkie on the seat "I don't need one but let me check with the guys at the Precinct".

End of meeting.

Fact is. . .it you are buying a Zumo MUCH cheaper than Amazon or PCNation you've effectively had the "caveat emptor" horn blown in your ear.

Hey Court. Was the guy driving a white van and sporting a gotee? Exact same thing happened last week here in Knoxville to one of the guys I work with. Makes you wonder if it's a national scam or national sting.

so even if it is 649 through pc nation, it's still a better deal than through my daughter with her discount.

PC Nation has a "presence" in Illinois so I would have had to pay the eight whatever percent state sales tax here. Buydig.com also has pretty great reviews and does not have to charge sales tax in Illinois, so I got my 550 from them earlier this year for $648 delivered. The box arrived in about three days! even though I chose the free shipping option which was supposed to take longer.

I think you get dinged for sales tax by Buydig if you live in Jersey, but you should confirm that yourself (of course).

Just load the Buell/HD POI's you need into (just about) any GPS...

http://www.princeton.edu/~blong/waypoints/

No need for them to be built-in...

Thanks Xbenign

Buell Zumo

Prior to buying either the Zumo or the Buell Zumo fo to Zumoforums.com and do a good bit of reading/searching.

Especialy if you are interested in XM radio.

The Zumo XM interface IS NOT STEREO and does not support Bluetooth wirless.

Expecailly be cautious if you have the Nolan N Comm communications package.

We sunk in excess of $1,000 into Helmet, N Comm Basic, N Comm Blue Tooth, Zumo 550 and XM30.

Long story short, did not work worth a Hoot.

The Zumo 550 bluetooth is not stereo for any application, not just the XM. I like the fact that it will play audio files (music, whatever) but I bought it knowing that if I wanted to listen to music in stereo I'd need to be wired to the device.

Before the end of this riding season (December?) I plan to get a Scala BT system for navigation prompts and (hopefully) rider/pillion communication. I'll try to keep the board posted with my results.

Yes and No

The Zumo will provide stereo for Mp3 but not XM.

Nolan N Comm bluetooth is twin speakers but not stereo.

J&M Corporation have a replacement system for the Nolan N Comm system that is Bluetooth Stereo,, but the XM still is not stereo.

Looking forward to your comments an success with th Scala.

I just did a quick google search initally and the cheapest that showed, normally I go look on nextag. Looks like preferred photo is one those sites that have rock bottom prices and try to sell accessories at inflated prices. Also gray market devices. If I was acutally going to order I would have done some more research.

Buelldualsport,
Is the XM not in stereo even if you use wired headphones?

I reserve the right to reconsider all of this when the XM/Sirius merger goes through and the pricing gets hashed out, but for now, for me, XM is not worth the cost.

The XM is stereo on headphones

Mono on bluetooth.

I use headphones and love them . . just need to figure out how to get a mic for the phone.

It really works okay now. When I get a call it pops up on the call ID on the Zumo and I know, at my next stop, I need to return a call.

I am trying to figure out how to send/receive text messages.

: )

Does the Zumo work with a mac?

I had the greatest ride the other day and have no recollection of where I went. I **think** it's stored somewhere in the Zumo and I'd love to repeat the route.
