My 1125r is leaking hydraulic fluid from the clutch (right side, black circle). Has anyone else had this issue? If so, is it a easy fix? I hope its no re-accuring issue. Seems like it started after the recall. Give me whatever info u have. Thanks guys. |

I think this is a common problem. Several people have experienced this. Mine was coming from the weep hole just beneath the plastic cover (black circle). It took me two tries to get it fixed, but it was fixed under warranty. The first time that I had it fixed, they just replaced some o-rings and it started leaking again. The second time, I made them call Buell to find out what parts need to be replaced. It is not leaking now. Have the dealer call Buell and find out what parts are needed, because if they just look at the parts book, it will seem like all that is needed is some o-rings, and you will have to go back again. I would also recommend, depending on how bad the leak is, having the dealer order the parts and call you when they arrive and the dealer has time to work on the bike. Mike |

Thanks Mike, I just came from the dealer 2day and they looked at the parts book and ordered the parts. They said the parts will be in by tuesday. Should I tell them to cancel their order and call buell to get the updated part numbers? |

My leak was caused by a seal that was replaced under warranty. I was wondering what steps had been taken to prevent it happening again. Are there uprated parts to be had? Fluid leaks are now another thing I have to check for in the pre-flight 'walk around'. The 1125 is becoming a very expensive bike to own considering it does a substantial percentage of its miles in my truck being taken (a long way) for warranty work. We don't get the cheap fuel that you fellas in the US have available. Happily, I have my x1 to play on while the 1125 is grounded (3 weeks last time) but even this has an appetite for the dogs on 2nd gear pinions Good job I love Buells eh? My Ducati and KTM riding mates get so much fun out of my mechanical nightmares |

There is an upgraded assembly. Have them call in. Mine was done in back in February and hasn't leaked since. You will notice a larger diameter puck on the side of an upgraded clutch cover assembly. |

I believe the old p/n is R0029.1AM and the RevB cover is R10029A.1AM. Z |

Choppercz, If they just ordered o-rings, you might want to have them call Buell and find out what parts are needed for the fix. Then again, just because it happened to me does not mean that this is what will happen every time that a tech looks in the book to order parts for a leaky clutch. I seem to remember at least one other person on this board that had the O-rings replaced and had to go back as well. Hope that they are able to get you all the parts you need the first time and fix it quickly. Mike |

I had all the seals replaced and it was great for a while, but on today's ride I noticed it starting to drip and get sloppy at the lever again. Ugh. |

The part number for the uprated cover isn't recognised when I've phoned seveal dealers this morning in the UK. Time for me to start checking out the local Ducati dealers I think. A route I've loyally tried to avoid over the years |

I just checked a UK site, the only part I can find is R0029.1AMA for RING, DIAPHRAGM ASSY - is this the old or the new part number ? Crowley, is this any help ? |

The old, the new part # is R1029A.1AM. This includes the clutch cover, skid puck, O-Ring and pegasus sticker. You will either have to try and reuse the 1125R sticker off the old one or order a new one of those. This was the part number off my invoice. I had to buy mine due to a low speed get off that ground through the skid puck and wore into the original cover. |

When I looked up the part number, the kit just seems to include a new cover, diaphram and puck. Is the bore the same size or is a new piston needed as well? |

Bore is the same, all you need is the kit. I had them replace mine while it was in for the 5th gear oiling recall. That way I did not have to pay to have to cover replaced just for the kit itself. Obviously anyone that has a leaky cover should be covered under warranty. |

My clutch cover is leaking again. Dealers tell me the upgrade kit isn't available in Europe. The seal replacement has lasted 500 miles - the bike is starting it's 4th week off the road and I'm at a loss as to what to do - keep replacing seals every 3 weeks and accept a 160 round trip to leave at dealers and another to pick it up? Hopefully this cover will be included in the '08 to '09 upgrade that I've heard talk of but that is some time away, the summer will be gone. Still awaiting a reply from Customer Services in the UK. |

When mine leaked the dealer worked with Buell on the phone and received a collection of parts to be replaced, included the piston. A good thing, because the piston they took out was scratched. The clutch leak repair was done around 4K miles (the leak was initially showing around 2.5K). I now have 9.5K miles on it and there is no sign of the problem re-occurring. |

In the meantime, the bike has been booked in to have its 3rd set of seals fitted under warranty. I would have ordered and paid for the 'O' rings by mail and fitted them myself but the ridiculous price of them makes a 160 mile round trip (at UK fuel prices) a much cheaper proposition. Hopefully, a more permanent fix will be available in the UK soon because I'm having to repeat this trip every few weeks. It's very hard 'to keep the faith' at times. |

I got my bike back on Thursday and the leak seems to be fixed. But the puck doesn't look any different from the original one. So I don't think I got the upgraded parts. Hopefully, I don't have this problem again, but from the looks of things, I will. Ride safe everyone. |

If the hydraulic piston and piston sleeve are the same, does anyone know how the uprated clutch cover differs from the old? Had the seals on the piston replaced again yesterday but the 2 O rings that seal the piston sleeve are unobtainable in Europe, so hopefully updated covers will be available, along with the appropriate seals, before my 1125 has to come off the road leaking again. I did the deed and bought another bike yesterday, out of frustration. |
