RT; Yes, head gasket is fixed!! Also, the vibration I had noticed our last ride turned out to be a loose primary drive, dealer adjusted it, but now it sounds like my bike has “Blower Whine”. I called the dealer up and they assured me that it was now adjusted properly…….”but, bring it in so we can listen to it”. I think it may be a little on the tight side, but this being my first Buell I can only guess. We’re having some folks staying with us for the next week (non-bikers) but after that “Let’s go ride’n”!!! Besides looks like a storm is brewing in the Gulf. I read about you and the Mrs. SLIM incident, very glad your okay………Keep wearing the lid, so you don’t end up in the cabbage patch. See ya. |

Hootowl: I turned the mirrors upside down because in the up position I would sometimes *kiss* the mirrors of cars (this was with the stock bars)while lane splitting (Legal in CA). I figure if I can lower them they would give me a little more room to maneuver. I'll post some more pics this weekend of how I did it. Thanks for the compliments. |

I've kissed a few mirrors in San Diego myself. Wish lane splitting was legal everywhere. My commute would be easier. |

Woodburn had the all harley drags going on and the Buell Lightning Series was at Portland International Raceway this weekend. I missed out on the drags but snapped some pics at PIR on Sunday. Enjoy, Thanks to Destination for sponsering the BRAG tent! Some very well prepared Buells from Hal's of Daytona. The flaming tank logo looked real cool. This is the Lighting bikes griding before the start of the race. Those empty stands make me sick. There were some truly insane stunt riders. This is the corner worker outside of the BRAG tent or turn 9. |

Here are some pics of the setup on my bike. The heatshield I made as the stock one would not fit and the header was cooking my leg (I also removed the passenger pegs). The lower mount was cut from some plate steel and TIG welded to the lower bar. The upper mount was some mild steel cut and MIGed to the upper frame bar. The seat area shows that I didn't have to relocate the oil tank; it all fit pretty nicely. Thanks.

Tavs, thanks for the added info and photos, I’m still amazed at what a different look the R-6 rear section gives the bike. |
