I have a 2004 Buell Blast P3. The speedometer doesn't work. It lights up, shows everything, it will not show speed. I replaced the Speedometer, and the Speed Sensor, and it still will not show speed, I think it might be internal but I'm not sure, any ideas? | ||

Not an expert but between the senser and the speedo I just see wires and maybe some other stuff but look at your elect. diagram. Could be a scuffed wire or bad plug connection. | ||

I checked for power and I have power running into the speed sensor, So I checked for power coming our of the sensor with the bike jacked up, in gear and running and I have not power coming out. Any Ideas? | ||

I would say it was your sensor that's the problem. Loosen it off a little and move it around with the rear wheel tuning to see if it just needs to be closer to the whatever it is you call it that makes it work in the gearbox. If that does not work then get a new sensor. | ||

I was lurking, but Bombardier gave me a thought... what was the origin of the replacement sensor? New part number? Old stock? An old one laying around? Bikes that eat one, tend to eat many. If you get another sensor, I can get you a filter for it for extra peace of mind. What are the volts on the wires? And slowly rotating the rear wheel (in gear off the ground) do you see that line ever go "high". For that matter, you can probably just pull the sensor but leave it hooked up to the harness and put a magnetic chunk of something below it, that ought to trigger it fine. |
