these bags are stiff. When I took them out of the box I thought they were stuffed with paper. they were empty. The bags come with about 12 straps to hold them in place. They come with a attached rain cover. The tail bag expands another four inches. I think it looks good with the tail bag only. |

can that tail bag be used as a back pack, or am i thinkin about something else? second question, will a helmet visor fit in it? |

Very nice. Much more substantial than those little 'joke' side bags that I bought for the Ss. I still have those if anybody is interested... Jack |

I meant helmet face shield. I ride to work into the sun, and ride home in the dark, so I need to be able to carry the clear with me for the ride home. Your pic more than answers my question. Thanks. (Message edited by badlionsfan on August 02, 2008) |

VERY nice. Those don't look near as "pretty" as the old ones, but they surely make it up by being able to carry more than a couple golf balls - lol. Super nice that you can get a helmet in there. If these were available when I was looking for more luggage, I probably woudln't have spent as much as I did on a custom Givi setup. |

I think I'm going to get that tail bag. Once I saw that you could fit a helmet in there I was sold. These are way more spacious than the others. |

Those bags look substantial, however anyone considering a saddlebag/tailbag purchase need to look at the Cortech Tourmaster. Not to pee on anyone's parade (just want to illustrate options,) IMO the Cortech saddlebags look second to none and can be had way cheaper that the Buell bags. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/379578.html?1217564161 |

Ok, questions: Are the saddlebags bigger than the old P&A bags? They look about the same size. Is it hard to get the passenger seat back on with the saddlebags attached? Is there soft foam or something on the bottom of the tailbag so it doesn't scratch the plastic seat cowl? |

"IMO the Cortech saddlebags look second to none" Agreed, and they are available in black, blue, and red. The red and blue would look great on the '09's. |

Are the saddlebags bigger than the old P&A bags? They look about the same size. I Don't know the size of the old bags. Includes soft rubber handle, built in rain cover, and hidden backpack strap. Padded no-slip scratch resistant base for paint protection. Reflective accent stripe for increased nighttime visibility. Embroidered Buell logo completes the look. Approximate Size: 17"L x 11" W x 9" H Is it hard to get the passenger seat back on with the saddlebags attached? yes, but not that bad...... Is there soft foam or something on the bottom of the tailbag so it doesn't scratch the plastic seat cowl? yes, rubber..} (Message edited by Two_Buells on August 03, 2008) |

Hi Two_buells, I see you have a Corbin seat on your 11. I attempted to buy one for mine, but, Corbin's customer service gave me a totally ratty time about it, and it wound up in management's lap...... They refused to sell me a seat that "wasn't designed specifically for my application". I told the girl there that it was likely the same exact seat, and, others were ordering the seat already. I explained to her that IF there were any differences at all, they're probably too subtle to worry about. They stood their ground and refused to sell me the seat, stating that Mike Corbin himself would give me a call if I wanted him too. I didn't see the need to continue to beat my head against the wall! I'd sure like to know how you got yours! If I don't get one from Corbin, then I'll likely have one made by Rich's out of Seattle. He does beautiful work, but, you pay what you get for..... The corbin would work fine for my purposes too, so I hate to spend $500.00-$600.00 on a custom seat when I can get a nice Corbin for around half of that! Thanx, Tracy |

I recently ordered a seat from corbin. They gave me the same speal. I assured them just like you did, that it will probably work. They just kept my order and asked me to send them pictures when I put it on so there R&D department can have a look. When did you submit your order? |

Order it from Al at American Sport Bike. I had to modify (bend and take out one screw on one side) the rear mounts to get it to fit my 1125R. He has the same seat on his 1125R and did not need any modifying like mine. Go figure. |

I was going to order from him, but they are not on his site anymore. |

Have you given him a call? He may have just been doing some modifications to the site and has not gotten them back up yet? |

I went through the same stuff with Corbin. I told them all years of the Firebolt and the 1125r are the same. I also told Corbin that the Buell Touring seat fits all years and the 1125r. They than took my order and I even sent them pictures after I got the seat. I'd call Al, better price and no hassles..... |

Why not just save the hassle and tell them you own a Firebolt...surprised that they actually care about where the seat will eventually be installed. A sale is a sale after all. |

Cool, thx. I like the elastic feature on the tail bag expansion. Nice when expansion is too much for the little you really needed. Do you know if it will fit the touring pillion seat too? |
