Spent the Day at Mid Ohio with the KTM crew. I got to ride the RC8 a few times. It had a lot of vibration in the bars and pegs when you start to get the revs up But other than that its pretty cool... A few pics....
Buell was in da house!
My in depth write up.... I like my Buell better! |

I like the RC8 in white and in Black. That's a slick looking 1125R! |

That's the Captain America edition. I've been reading on 'em in the KTM UK forum. Seems the only issue thus far is cutting out at a closed throttle at random times during break-in. This results in a locked rear wheel until the clutch is pulled in and the bike re-started. They seem to be putting out around 150hp at the wheel. Pretty stout. A lot of owners praise the handling as the best of any roadbike they've owned. The looks are pretty wild. I've been hoping that one day they'll make a stealth motorcycle...invisible to radar and having countermeasures against laser. This one almost looks the part. Dude, and they said the front end of the 1125R looked bad. Those KTM's look hideous from the front. |

Looks like a scooter from the front in my opinion. That being said, for a 1st try I'd say they did pretty damn good. My guess is that this will eat more than a few potential 1098 (and 1125R?.....) sales. |

We will see, speculation over on the KTM board is around 19K so we will see how much they cut into those sales. Also apparently there will probably be I believe 50 earlier deliveries but there will not be over here in numbers until Spring '09. (Message edited by krassh on July 31, 2008) |

19K? Geesh. Nice bike, but thats a LOT of coin. Kinda puts the 1125 in perspective... get an 1125CR and spend $7000 on gear. Or on a CRF450 to go with it. |

An 1125 is what, 10hp down the 1190 KTM? I bet you could manage 10hp with $7k. |

KTM sure does use some nice parts on the dirtbikes, should be interesting. My 125sx is a beast of a small bike and my friend's 525sx is just kind of insane. |

Cool fairing from the front, but I don't like the profile. $19,000!? If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I give you: ~SM |

If you think a 525sx is insane hop on my KTM 950R Super Enduro. V-Twin Street legal Dirt Bike, only way to go. |

Cool. Sounds like it's one of those bikes where it's best to ignore the spec sheet. The numbers aren't stunning, but we know not to judge by them hey. |

If you hold the front of the fairing with two fingers, and hold the back of the tail section with two fingers and pull lightly, does it flap its wings? |

I like the KTM's. Overpriced...I suppose. They do use some top notch components and have an excellent fit and finish on most everything. This is my favorite The Super Duke is one of the sexiest looking bikes I've seen in a long time. The 690 DukeIII is cool in that Transformer for big boys kinda way.

I love the 690 Duke. It looks like the definition of fun on two wheels. |
