If you bring it into Cali from the state you had it registered in when you move here and become a resident of the State. Then you register it in Cali you should have no problem selling it to someone in Cali since it has been registered and titled here. |

>>>A lot of paperwork, but it could be done. If you HAVE to do it you likely can . . . otherwise it's a true PITA considering (at least in the case of Buells) there is no performance difference between a CA and a 49 state vehicle. |

Court - I understand where you're coming from, but I'm not looking to skirt a CA model by buying a 49-state bike while living in CA. I would be bringing a 49-state bike that I already owned with me when I moved there. Thanks for the heads up though, and the idea to check the CA DMV website for answers. Krassh - thanks for heads up. Of course, the point is probably moot - with year round riding, 7500 miles will come awfully fast I think. (Message edited by xl1200r on August 02, 2008) |

Back on topic - These bikes are fast as sh!t, and I just got a quote from my insurance company... $30 a year LESS than my XB12R. Can't beat that! My dealer is getting a deposit by tomorrow morning. |
