Riding home yesterday a.m. after work and noticed the speedo's not working. Pulled into a gas station and shut it off and started it back up again. Same thing. It does go through the self test where the needle pegs and then goes back to zero, but once the bike is in motion, the needle doesn't move. Nor does the odometer. I just thought I'd share this here. I'll be taking it to the dealer to have them look at it. Not sure when. I wonder if the low fuel light is going to work now? hmmm... now I can't remember when I last topped off the gas tank. Doh! Cheers, Jody S. |

The low fuel light should still work, it uses a different sensor inside the frame/tank. The speedo sensor is on top of the right side of the transmission, above the pulley cover. It is a little black unit held by a single allen bolt and a wire running out of it. Undo the allen bolt and the connection, then twist and lift the sensor to remove it. It will probably have gunk stuck to the magnet, clean that up, re install the sensor and see if this fixes it. If that does not work, take it to the dealer to have it replaced under warranty. Don't worry, be happy, you are now officially a Buell owner! |

When warranty runs out use a bicycle speedometer. Digital display, trip meter, easy to install and inexpensive. Yes it works! |
