Rant on. ARGH these guys piss me off so bad. I took my bike in for its first service, and the oiler recall, and a few other minor issues. So they did the service, my bike (nov 07 #186) already has the updated ECM flash, but they verified it anyway. They then unhooked my solenoid cable. This is where things get interesting. I have noticed that my bike has a very gentle tendency to drift to the left, if you turn on the throttlemeister and release the bars. Nothing a little body english can't fix, but it's a brand new bike. I informed them of this, and they said that they couldn't find any handling problems. So then they give me my bike back, I'm checking it over, and my throttlemeister is spinning freely, almost about to fall off. I go ask them WTF? They tell me that it's a safety issue, and they loosened it because it wouldn't release the throttle. ••••••• duh, it's a throttle lock, that is normal operation. If you disengage it, the throttle operates normally. It took me a good bit to get it set just right, as it was allowing the throttle to slightly back off before, so when I found it unhooked I was really ticked. So then I made em gimme an allen wrench so I could fix it. It will take some more tweaking and tuning to get it back working right. Ugh. Oh, I forgot to mention, my left mirror has the flopping problem. I took it in there, they said they had one, but they couldn't find it so they'd order one. Few days later, I had to go by there anyway so I checked to see if the mirror was there. They said it was, took my bike in the back and supposedly changed it. I get it back, and not only does the mirror still flop, it still has my ••••••• fingerprints on it. Ugh. Unfortunately, there's nobody else in the immediate local area for buell service. Baton Rouge is the closest, and I'm not sure if they're a good shop or not. Beaumont is a bit of a drive, but if I have to, that's where I'll be going. Once all my parts come in that I have on order from Cajun HD, I will never buy another thing from them (3 bikes so far) and will go out of my way to get service elsewhere. Oh...my family all rides bikes from there too..so they may very well have lost several customers. Rant off. tl;dr : Cajun HD sucks. | ||

One more thing. While I was in there, a kid on a blast comes in, needing some tires and other assorted stuff. He made the appointment for that morning, but my bike was there first, and there's only one 'buell guy'. So they make the kid wait for 3 hours and then tell him they don't have his tires or any of the other stuff he needs. ••••••• •••••• customer service man. | ||

Zack, I feel for ya. I recently got the run around with the tranny recall when I brought in my own oil for the top-off. They told me that no oil was lost during the procedure, as I was handed the unused quart of Amsoil--hence my oil was not needed. It was "mis-information" (i'll stop short of calling it an out and out lie) of course, as when I subsequently checked the oil, it was significantly overfilled...Obviously, the tech forgot to use my oil or didn't read the work order that specified to use my oul. Ya lose some faith in your service department when this crap happens. My main question is for your throttlemeister...how hard to you have to crank it in order to lock the throttle? Even when I tighten mine up quite a bit, I slowly lose speed...like the throttle is very slowly creeping shut. I believe I don't have too much freeplay as less than a quarter turn and the TM makes first contact with the throttle. | ||

i tightened mine up quite a bit. its' actually kinda hard to crank it to get it to come on, but it still disengages fine, and operates normally while off. | ||

well, with mine adjusted like it was, it was good for a 7 mile straight stretch of interstate, hands free, with minor course corrections provided by body english. not sure how long it would have held, but i ran out of road :/ | ||

Hey Zack3g, I think I'm going to just remove my mirrors and drill out those stinkin' "pins " they used to assemble the stalks, and just put good quality socket head bolts with nylock nuts and washers instead. It wouldn't take more than just fifteen or twenty minutes on each side to do this simple mod. I believe it will permanently fix this flopping problem. Just a thought....... Take care, Tracy | ||

Jotrevza, I picked up a set of mirror blockoff plates from DarkHorseMoto.....they even powder coated them black (for a small fee) to match the paint pretty damn spot on. They look great and I'll be posting a little blurb about it soon with pics. | ||

BR-HDB is on seigen lane off 1-10. left at exit, on right a couple miles down. limited experience for me as far as maintenance, but they seem to be trying hard. i sometimes buy parts from cajun, but have never used them for maintenance. bring that 1125 over to no problem raceway aug10 for the tigertrackdays.com trackday. good fun on two wheels.(it will be hot). see ya around! tim |
