Heh, I'm thinking about this as well. Curious to find out what's involved. ~SM |

...provided the mounting points are the same (remember, the frames are different), I doubt it would be any more involved than putting a R fairing on an S. As to just how involved that process is, well, there are several people here on the boards that have put R fairings on S/X bikes, so they could give you a better idea of that. |

I know the r to s or the s to r swap is a few hour project depending on your mechanical ability. I hope the mounting points are the same. I have fallen in love with that front fairing. |

Funny I would be tempted to do the opposite the S fairing on the CR |

I don't think the 1125 and the S cluster jive. But you could probably rig the fairing without swapping the gauges. The S fairing isn't even a perfect fit with its own gauges. ~SM |

It'll fit. One way or another. When the XB9S was introduced it was often said how putting an R tail on an S couldn't work... |

Bah, I wasn't thinking about the electronics, just the physical attachment. ...where there's a will, there's a way! |

it sure would be a mod id jump on...it would make the bike look longer and much improved... |

Edit: Thought you were talking about an 1125R fairing. The CR would be a lot more involved. Still do-able but much harder. (Message edited by not_purple_s2 on July 29, 2008) |

MAN, I'd love to just have a CR. There's no way in hell my wife would agree to it. ~SM |

I want a CR front on my 12R -- in black it would be awesome -- and then with the Scg tail I would be style'n...though what would it be called then? XB12RCRScg sounds a bit...long, don't you think??? Ooooo, how about a XB12CRcg? Huh, you know if they had made that bike I would probably have been tempted to trade in my 12R for it (something I swore never to do). Swearing really is bad... |

I just want to know if those black clubman bars will fit the XB models I think the CR fairing might look too big on an XB. It looks small because it's surrounded by those pods but I'm betting it's a bit larger than the XB lights and Flyscreen. |

I'm taking it for granted both bikes use the same front brake rotor, that is how I know the scale is right. It didn't look right with the stock XBS handle bars, so I changed them to the CR's. I do like it.

Thanks Glitch! Wow, your right that does look good...man, they are really missing out not making a 1125CScg type ride -- I would go for one big time, dumbo ears or no! Really is a beefy front end that matches the burley frame width and lines. I volunteer my bike for the experiment! Unfortunately I think the dash will probably not talk to the XB brain so we would have to keep the XB dash unit. |

Glitch, I have one request. If you could change the black background on the black bike pic to a different color? |

A suggestion for the best gauge for this conversion. The xr1200 tach. http://blogs.lavozdegalicia.es/pumarola/wp-content /gallery/harley-xr-1200/harley_xr_1200_presentacio n_28.jpg |

Nice looking Glitch -- almost makes me want to keep my R's tail instead of trading/sourcing a S tail. Just thinking though, where would a R's electronics go if you mounted a CR nose? You know something Buell could do that would be really cool is to make the bikes modular so we could switch the tails and front assemblies easily -- I would buy more than one nose or tail if I could just swap one for the other with 10-15 minutes of worth of wrenching...hrrrrm... I think maybe I will see if I can make a quick disconnect R tail and S tail and just pop on the one I am in the mood for...sounds like a good winter project! |

Buell Swatch Cycles, both air and liquid cooled models. Feel like a stunta or just tearing up city streets? Then install the S or CR kit.(nose, bars and tail section) Feel like some high speed track carving? The install either R kit. Need to rack up highway miles 2up or haul things? Then get the Uly kit (seat, bags & pegs) so you and your lady can ride in comfort. |

I already have an R tail on my S, so I've already dealt with figuring out where electronics go. I've not seen one yet, but the CR's nose looks like it'll have some space, maybe enough for the R's electronics. I think maybe I will see if I can make a quick disconnect R tail and S tail and just pop on the one I am in the mood for...sounds like a good winter project! Not saying it can't be done, I will say however, that I'm pretty positive there won't be any quick, in your quick disconnect. If you could change the black background on the black bike pic to a different color? I'll give it a shot later on, gotta go for now. |
