The new Buell products catalog shows a "New Buell zumo GPS Navigator", part number 92393-08Y @ $879.95 and states "Fits ’07-later XB12X and ’08-later XB12XT models". Does anyone know which series this is? It looks like a 550, but I don't know enough about the zumo series to be sure. |

550 it is, or a variation of it. I have a 450 which doesn't have the XM capability. The 550 is also Bluetooth capable, but there is no mention of that. I was able to get the 450 from Amazon right after christmas for $400. They haven't been close to that price since. The regular 550 can be had today for $628 with free shipping from Trusted Dealer, and for $630 with free shipping from Red Tag Savings. Only real difference would be that the Buell version has the Harley dealers pre-loaded. The Zumo is quite handy though. |

If you are looking at the Zumo 550 and want to ise XM with Blue Tooth, you might be dissipointed. Zumo, XM and Bluetooth do not play well together. The XM Music is only two (2) speaker MONO - not Stereo via Bluetooth. Go to Zumoforums.com and learn a lot. We invested over $1500 for the Zumo, XM Radio Antenna and Sub, and Nolan N Comm Helmet with BlueTooth, and ended up selling all, due to the Blue Tooth Issues. Only real difference would be that the Buell version has the Harley dealers pre-loaded. I wonder if they updated the POI database. I found on the Quest (which is also still on the list for '09), that the Buell/HD database was woefully outdated. With the Zumo maybe we'll be able to hack the unit and gain access to it since it mounts as a storage device. The Quest does not, so you don't have access to the POI database. Wayne |

I use Bose headphones in my helmet which skirts the Bluetooth issue. Zumoforums.com is an incredible place for info. |

+1 on Zumoforums! Learned a lot by reading up on several issues. Interestingly, I just bought my XT in June, no mention of the new GPS, I probably would have waited for it... I picked mine up from cyclegadgets.com |

One of the many things I learned at Zumoforums is to avoid Red Tag Savings. And then somewhere, I think it was Advrider? I caught wind of a Harley/Buell dealer POI file online somewhere. Crap - I thought I bookmarked it... probably on another computer. (NOTE TO SELF remember to use http://del.icio.us ) |

One thing I have learned. . . as a voracious fan of Nikons. . . is that any time you find a price significantly below what the reputable dealers are selling at you are asking for problems. Locally the D3, D700 and SB-900 are hot. It's tempting, when you see one for $2,000 less than Adorama or J&R sells for to get drawn in. I've heard some real horror stories. I bought my Zumo from PCNation and confess it was one of the better buying experiences I've ever had on line. |

I caught wind of a Harley/Buell dealer POI file online somewhere. http://www.gps-data-team.com/poi/united_states/aut omotive/ This has HD dealers, some of which undoubtably are also Buell dealers. However, that's how the Buell POI database is in the Quest as well. Either some of these were Buell dealerships that gave up the brand, or simply never were Buell dealers, but found their way into the Buell POI that Garmin put on the units. Wayne |

I got a Zumo 550 when they came out. I use a bluetooth transmitter plugged into the base stereo output, and a pendant style BT reciever with ER6i's. Works fantastic, but no mic capabilities....yet. Riddle me this, though.... The Zumo is designed for motorcycles from the beginning. Even has the controls on the left so you don't have to take your hand off the throttle grip. Why does the Buell Zumo mount only on the right bar???(to the lever clamp) Or did I miss something? |

Zumoforums has THE sequence to synch up the Zumo to your Helmet BT (I use the Cardo Scala Rider Q2) and then your phone. It's a BT issue. Can only synch up to one device at a time... I'll post the actual link later today... Might help those that are pondering a Zumo. TankBueller: Buell GPS on RS: I think it's an artifact from previous GPS installation. You're correct, Zumo was designed to be used with Left Handed operation. Although, I've found myself at stop lights having to go into Neutral in order to work the GPS.. Just my dos centavos. |
