I don't care how embarrassing this is- I need help. I installed Buell's 'noid eliminator today, but also wanted to catch a glimpse of the throttle bodies. Needless to say, when I got everything back together and fired up the bike, the throttle didn't work AT ALL. Well, took it all apart and put it together more carefully, and this time the throttle worked, but it was VERY tight. Took it all apart yet again to see where the cable was getting pinched, and couldn't quite pin-point it. I'm pretty sure it's on the right side of the throttle bodies, being the Solenoid's cable. I tried just about everything to get things to fit right, but the right-rear hole for the outer airbox was WAY off as far as being aligned with the metal bracket attached to the frame. Is there a trick to putting everything back together? I'd like to think I'm far from being a newb when it comes to vehicles, but this had me quite worked-up. |

Alright, I went up and messed with it some more, and finally figured out was wrong. I don't know about everyone else that has had their lower airbox out, but the rubber seal around the throttle bodies stayed with them when I pulled the cover off. Well, everytime I tried to put it back on and tighten it down, it was pushing the seal down on the throttle linkages. Once I figured it out, I pulled the seal off the TB's and sealed it onto the cover FIRST (no wonder it has two little flaps to fit something between) and WALA! Fit like a glove with no throttle tightness. I don't know if I'll be the only one to mess this up, but hopefully someone else can learn from this, too! |

Yep...I am planned to get down to the throttle bodies when I get the Buell noid resistor and nothing seems to go smoothly for me during these procedures. Thanks for sharing the info... |
