Just how far forward should the bike be able to roll when on the kickstand? I know it is supposed to lock when the weight is on it. In the garage I can roll the bike quite a ways forward before it locks and the bike feels really precarious. And the other night on a gravel driveway it would have tipped over after rolling forward if two of us weren't there to catch it. I don't feel like I can trust it to lock soon enough. Is this normal? normal, leave it in gear when parked and it won't roll. tim |

You need to put the "Aaron Wilson bend" to your kickstand, and life will be wonderful once again...
Here is the link to the info on how to do it: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=4062&post=157145#POST157145 |

Not only leave it in gear, but roll it forward as far as it will go. |

+1 on parking in gear. Talking with the guy who makes them, Al at American Sport Bike may have a fresh run of replacement sideplates soon. I've got 'em on my S2, they allow use of a standard tuber (X1, S1, S3, M2) sidestand and the use of a single parking space when parked and leaned over, LOL. They're pricey, but gorgeous billet aluminum pieces and they beat the hell out of the heartbreak of opening the garage and finding my S2 with lowers and saddlebags laying on all that fiberglass..... |

Frank.... I cant believe the difference the bend has made...I did check with EFB about RS sideplates and stand...They are still available, but , theres alot of mods to make em work...They are a bolt onto the frame, but the shifter and brake pedal etc is all different...Plus no rear peg mounts...Price was good on the stuff tho for anyone needin RS sideplates....Hankb. |

Frank - count me in for a shirt, XL Although, with the new hardware in my legs, I'm pretty sure I lean with or without the bike, LOL. |
