I've been toying alittle with the throttle in 1st gear getting the front end up for a second then letting her down. Tryn to get the feel if you will. Tonight while following my wife, I got some nuts and tried it second gear. Sat back in the seat a bit gripped with my legs, popped the throttle then turned the throttle up ever so smoothly and away she went. I one wheeled through an entire intersection ...GOD I LOVE THIS BIKE! I didnt even really have to get into it. Sorry I was so excited I had to tell some one...my wife gave me "the look" when I told her LOL oh well it was so fun. |

Rock on Rick! Just wait until you pull a 3rd gear power wheelie.

Congrats! Although, it makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong when it comes to 2nd gear wheelies. I think I'm doing what everyone says as far as scooting back a little and just rolling into it. Well, still haven't gotten the front wheel up, lol. And I'm only 170 lbs, so I can't imagine weight is much of a factor. Hmmm... |

Yep, the 3rd gear ones are sweet, considering how fast you are going when it happens. |

"And I'm only 170 lbs, so I can't imagine weight is much of a factor." Being a fatass like me helps alot on most sportbikes. It moves the CoG rearwards. |

Eagle, How many rpm's you sitting at when you try to pull it up man? Up here at about 7000ft I was able to pull it up...I think I was around 7.5k rpm though. Sounds strange to me having her rev that high, makes me uncomfortable for some reason. Be safe |

Ditch the "noid" so you get 100% when you wick it. Try lofting small wheelies over a crest in the road until you get a "feel" for it (should lift around 5,000 rpm - 6,500)rpm. Higher temps and higher altitudes may be more of a challenge. I occasionally have problems getting them to come up in 2nd (could be the mapping) but usually my Helicon is a monster! |

Oh, guess I'm not revving it high enough then. I was trying around 5K or so. Guess that's my problem |

Dan Bilansky did a wheelie across the start-finish line at Road America this weekend on an 1125R. Of course, he had just won the Thunderbike race, so we can all understand. |

you guys have trouble getting the front wheel up in second? around 6500 or 7000 it comes off super easy. if your having trouble give the bars a little tug on the way up. Ill have to post some video. i can do first gears forever, second gears forever, third gears forever, and then standup wheelies in second and third no problem for ever and ever |

This is d_buckles buddy. rode this bike the day he had it broken in and lets try this......stand up on your back pegs second gear at 4 grand and it will stay up for ever........i ride a gsxr 750 and i am just wondering why anybody would need a 3rd gear wheelie. find balance point and your speeed wont change you just hang out on 1 wheel for days. |

Well, I've been tinkering with the 2nd gear wheelies, and still no dice. I'm totally waiting till 7K, I've given the handlebars a few tugs... nadda. I really suspect I'm doing something wrong. Are you guys on the back pegs when you do it? Also, someone mentioned removing the solenoid. Would that make that much of a difference? |

I never got mine up untill I disconnected the solenoid cable from the throttle. It's also in the timing of the the dip in the front end. Try and stiffn up your rebound on the tail end too. Less the shock absorbs the easier it will be too. Be careful =) |

When I was at sea level, I almost looped Loretta. It was hard to keep the front end on the ground. Up here at 5000 ft, it's a lot harder to loft. Power wheelies are over 6k in 1st, haven't had much success in higher gears. I don't plan on "riding" any wheelies anytime soon tho. This bike is the easiest to lift the front wheel since I've had a dirt bike. Z |

Zac, wheelies in first are super-easy, I don't need to get anywhere near 6K. I can pop them around 4K. So I must be doing SOMETHING right, lol. I've got Buell's solenoid resistor on order, so we'll see if that helps any. As far as elevation, I'm only at around 1,400 ft, and it's been about 85 degrees. I'll try some more tomorrow |

Went to a track day a couple of weeks ago and pulled some really nice feeling stands out of the first gear chicane right through to third just over 100mph the balance of these bikes is just phenomonal Brett |

I had the reflash done and it seems i lost some power. I used to be able to just twist the throttle and it would stand right up. Doesn't work anymore. It will still stand up but i need to get the rpms up higher then i like. |

If your having trouble getting the wheel up in 3rd try using some finesse. Slight preload on the front. Lean back and twist the throttle at the same time. About 6k will work. Dont jurk your body trying to pull up on the handle bars. Just pull up by bending your elbows while trying to keep your body still. |

The reflash was supposed to improve throttle response but the tech from our dealer said all bikes that have had it done on the mainland have lost horsepower so i'm not having it done as i have no real issues with the way mine performs Brett |

Great, that sounds like a load of crap. I suppose mine had the reflash done before I purchased it (only 3 weeks ago) so that could be why I'm at a loss for 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies. Shame... |

Eagle1, it is possible to wheelie a 5hp minibike. Just about anything with 2 wheels will pick the front one up with proper technique. Most modern sport bikes will do so simply by twisting the throttle hard enough. Go watch this video and report back: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-665619159 0638402466 |

All I gotta say is WOW Third gear, 75 mph, whacked the throttle pretty hard and it came up about 2 1/2 feet off the ground. The guy following me on a RSV 1000 Aprilla was pretty suprised to see it since his won't do it without some serious clutch action. Mine was all throttle. } |

I'm not a wheelie rider and it scared the shit out of me, to be completely honest. I had a witness and he was as suprised as I was. I slid back about 1-2 inches on the seat until I touched the back cowl, downshifted to 3rd and hit the throttle pretty hard. No clutch, no pulling, just throttle. I weigh about 200 lbs and seriously, it came right up. I will most likely NEVER do it again, especially at night, but it DID happen. Take that as you will, but the only thing that would have made ME look silly would have been me crashing. |

Hey Dean, I just looked at your profile and realized that were neighbors. I think you were in 2nd though. Usually the only way I can pull one in 3rd is if I`m lofting over a hill and got it crankin. |
