I am an apprentice for a gentleman in upstate new york that currently has roughly 40 sets of the fueling/rivera/quantum 4 valve heads. he has made MANY MANY improve ments to these heads. these heads are great for a very wide power band, and you do not need a radical cam at all (around .500 lift) these heads are straight up kick ass. i will have a set on my m2 after this winter. if anyone is intrested please let me know and i can get you in conact with the guy. |

Aron, I'd like to hear more about these heads. I'd also like to hear how it goes with your M2...I may be interested in putting a set on mine. |

I am very interested. Fueling has done some remarkable development work in the past (for example,GM quad four motors with big HP, anti-reversion headers, etc.) Keep us posted on this. Thanks, Dave |

Do you have an idea on the cost? What else has to be changed? How are they with the stock pistons? Sounds great! I need more power Scotty! |

<interested.... But, what would limitations be? Are they set up for the 15* dome of the Thunderstorm Piston? or the 10* of the lightning head? Or are they flat top like the stock sporty? Any and all info you CAN share, would help. Thanks, Chase BTW, I am not asking for specs, just which pistons this will work with, etc... |

i believe you have to use new pistons designed for these heads. high compression ratios with no detention is another plus, 12:1 on pump gas. im getting ahold of the guy tonight, to make sure its ok i give out his email, maybe he will register and can tell you guys everything you need to know. |

These things have been around, tried and dismisses for the better part of 15 years. I'll be eager to see what has been changed. There was something, and I can't recall what the heck it was that for some reason made the 4-valve heads not worth doing. |

alot of people think the harleys cant rev high enough to benefit the flow of 4 valves, but thats not the point of the 4 valves. you get mad amounts of flow, but you dont loose port velocity, in turn you dont loose mid range |

Aaron my young friend is a little excited about the 4-valve heads that I have doing the R+D on, and has put me in a spot by jumping the gun before I was ready to release the 4-cam 4-valve heads to the general public. He has given you all good accurate information but I do have to adjust the total heads that I have in inventory, it is realistically about half of the number he quoted and the majority of those are for the big-twin evo. that I have had good success with, widening out the power band by bringing in the torque at a lower RPM that is more compatible with riding on the street, and without to great of a loss of horsepower up to the 7000 rev limiter setting. At the present time next we will be working on fabricating the top front motor mount for the buells. The problem I have right now is time, and having to keep the stress down due to health issues. I will try to answer any questions concerning the reliability issues that have been addressed, by the upgrading and refinement of the heads components. On the www.xlforum.net there is a buell project that I am setting up the 4-valve heads for. To have an open forum on this build I hope will answer most questions and concerns and the 4-valve heads will show for themselves exactly what they will do for a reliable street motor. I really was not ready yet to answer all the above questions but I promise I will get to them in the near future.thanks JM |

I'm with Court, skeptical, and I'm waiting to be proven wrong. Lots of changes have to take place in port layout for these to "bolt on" that compromise the benefits, and you get to the point of asking "Do I really want to buy new induction system, exhuast, cams, and probably pistons, for this?" I've seen the T-man heads in action on a properly set up motor (No parts-book shotgunning, but a true "teamwork setup"), and that's good enough for me. There are sponsors of this site capable of that. Let's hope these fellows make up for 75 years or so of antiquity. |

The bang for buck factor would ultimately be the deciding factor. realistically, I can set up a turbo system for less than it would cost to do these heads. And spray, is WAY cheaper. BUT, if there is another player to bring to the table, I am willing to look.... Chase (Message edited by chasespeed on July 24, 2008) |

Since additional cost is a concern the most economical pistons to use and also the most available are the flattop stock pistons, that work just fine when flycut for the 4 valves, they can either be machined with a slot or cut individually for each of the 4 valves. also the dished piston for the 883 to 1200 conversion will work with very little modification. The bolt in cams will work without any problems, and I will go into them in more detail later. |

For about $2500.00 Nalin Racing can build you a A-- Stomping 125 RWHP XL based engine. I'm eventually going for the 1250cc and StageII build with a one up SE cam, for about 110 RWHP. These guys are really nice, and easy to deal with. And their local for me. j- |

I'd be interested to see how it works out and if it's a viable alternative. Please keep us aprised. |

wile ecoyote used the description of the 4-valve heads the best, they are a viable alternative. My objective is to offer the 4-valve heads mainly for the street as a way to efficiently widen the midrange torque band without any major loss to horsepower at higher RPM's. High Horsepower big cubic inch motors will always have a place in my heart I built a lot of them and still advise builders on other boards ways to extract a little more then the guy next to them at the track. But the 4-valves place is on the street and for the weekend racer who wants a bike that can stand up for itself on both the street and the track. and be reliable. |

Sorry I know this an old thread but... Aronxs400, are you still on this board, did you have any contact with jurneyman, aka John Mansell?. John Mansell contacted me telling me he had a xl 4 valve head kit wich I put a deposit on july 3, 08 and sent him full payment of $3187 cnd on dec 16, 08 Its been over a year and I still do not have what I paid for and this sob even has my pistions too. I have been trying to email him and my email just get returned. I have try many times to phone him also with no luck. has anyone else here delt with this guy?, I have been worryed since dec 08 this guy was going to rip me off but biting my tounge in hopes of trying to get this thing done with him.
