One of the most important snippets of fitness advice I'd read was from Joe Weider, in '84: The gist of it was that the scale is not a strong measure of fitness, the calipers and the mirror, ultimately, are greater indicators. |

I'm pissed that I've put some back on but I have no one to blame but me. I haven't been on the treadmill for some time. That 6lbs I was talking about was bike parts being chopped off. I was just on the phone talking to the battery man to see if I could get a smaller one. The stock battery is 12.6lbs and one for a Honda 600 is 5.9lbs. I just don't know if it has enough a$$ to turn the bike over... |

3 lbs this week, at 251. Started at 321, so as you math majors already know, I'm down 70 lbs. Haven't felt this good physically since high school. |

190 is the goal. When I get there I may go lower, depending on what the body is telling me. When I hit goal, then I'll buy a suit and such. |

Oldog, take a nap, relax man! You've been over doing things. A man your age(and still alive) should just sit back and collect SSI checks and not over motivate(over medicate is OK though)! Dude.....are you riding your couch to Buelltoberfest? |

I've been doing so good, so very good, was down to 238. It was not my plan to eat boat loads of fried oysters and shrimp po boy's, but the wife insisted that I needed some time away. I just spent 3 days trying to rid the southeastern seaboard of the dreaded oyster, and some shrimp, and bushels of fried okra. I'll wait until Monday, maybe Tuesday, to see how much damage I've done (after a weekend of mixed greens and water .) |

Don't worry too much about your bodyweight- If you're performing any type of hypertrophic exercise, you'll be increasing your lean mass (That's a good thing). Lean mass is nearly twice as heavy as fat. Judge your static condition by the mirror and the calipers, don't beat yourself up. Don't get too hung up on fad diets, either. It's the simplest formula possible: Decrease caloric intake, increase energy expenditure ...and you will increase physical fitness. I weighed MUCH more, when I was in peak physical condition (and wearing smaller jeans), than I do now. |

Actually the goal is to do a 6 minute mile again, and repeatedly. So I suppose I should start posting those times with my chunky butt wt numbers. |
