ustourqe and scott i have ones for each of you also Thanks Dan and thanks Jim for letting me know that I was the intended Scott (and for the poster)! So I am back for a couple of weeks and am on my regular schedule which means drag racing can happen most Wednesday nights (not this week though) and every other Friday including this Friday. If your availability falls on a kids weekend for me, it could still happen, I just need to know you are DEFINITELY coming in advance so I can leave work early enough to get the kids. Since my daughter drives, they can either come to the track or stay home.... |

Rear axle/wheel..... a) When putting the axle bolt back on: Rear axle is first tightened to 27 ft-lbs then backed out 720 degrees and re-tightened to 48-52 ft-lbs. Rear pinch bolts are tightened to 40-45 ft-lbs. Make sure you apply anti-seize on the axle before putting it back on. Avoid getting the anti-seize on the swingarm paint. It can be a pita to clean up! b) The caliper bolt torque spec is 18-20ft-lbs Front axle/wheel.... a) The front axle is 39-41 ft/lbs. Use Anti Seize, Also, the front axle is left hand thread. b) Pinch bolts are 20-22 ft/lbs. Torque them slowly and do one, the other, first one, other, etc. Makes the torquing even. c.) 2 bolts which hold the caliper to the fork This one is 35-37ft/lbs. Use blue loktite. There is tons of info on this in the "Knowledge Vault" or use the "Search Function". |

Got almost all my parts in to convert/ repair my ride. All I'm missing is the touring seat. I think i may try to go back to work tomorrow, maybe a half day, then come home and put on the rest of the parts. The bike will definitely be ready before i am |

Hey,i don't care WHO worked on Chip's bike. My point is,FI is very labor intensive/delicate,and shouldn't be messed with unless it can be finished correctly. What is up with chips bike? I have not seen him post up on this. He posted something about getting hooked up to the computer to go vroom vroom but that was the last I heard? I am more than happy to help fix the problem as I have done many times. His main problem is the map is for a race muffler, NOT a Jardine so slowly but surely the map will scale itself till it runs like a$$. Lets not go pointing fingers though. AND it is labor intensive. It took me a while to learn how it works. Scotty was a big help also. saved me some time in the learning curve. Chip would have had the same problem with a race ecm and would be a couple hundred dollors in the hole also. Want it to run good w/ a race map....Get a race muffler..Period. His bike has a big hole in accel right in the meat of powerband, poor guy.He thinks his original map is lost.I know nothing more. Two minutes time and the stock map is back in. Feel free to stop in and see me or scott to go back. easy fix. get in touch with us Chipster All this bickering, you'd think it was December. We don't even ride as a group anymore.I miss that.I've ridden with Eric only once this season. It's fallin' apart i tell 'ya.Fallin' apart With comments like this you now see why I ride solo lately. Danny is the smart one here. No need for a soap opera dramma ride. no guilt trips either. Just ride and be happy! You guys can do what you want. I will be back when all this stupid sh!t goes away. WTF! Darren I would like to get that lever back when your done with it. It goes to my spare set. Thanks Bud! |

But hey, Practice makes perfect...LOL He "SHOULD" be able to do such an easy task....I think? Never seen him work on a bike is all. Plus he likes Vespa's, and they are ***.. As long as you're going to be an advocate i might as well point out where someone("D-Minus?) has been slandered regarding their abilities |

eric thanks for the torque specs.....gotta find my book, it's been lost in the shuffle.(new tires should arrive tomorrow, hopefully) if any of you guys run across a cheapo laptop that i can run the ecmspy software on let me know, i'm anxious to get to know the software a little better. i can't stand having to rely on other peoples laptops for simple things(nothing fancy just a beater) (Message edited by ustorque on July 22, 2008) |

Once everyone makes up with each other can we keep the man hugs to ourselves please? I ride around here with a couple friends once and a while but its not as fun as with the NEBO group. My friends actually laugh when I tell them I am gonna get up early to go eat some breakfast then ride. They don't know what their missing! |

Unless you plan on seizing it. Oh Boy..I knew I should not have peaked in...You really think I am going to steal/seize it? I mean Come On, IF this is what you are saying, Just Say It! Don't make it sound like I am not giving it back on purpose. I have offered it back to you many times now with the same response....."I would prefer to just keep it here for now I don't need it". Trust me, I would love to be rid of the responsibility of some one else’s 100.00+ tool. Now, lets use a little common sence here, I don't steal from ANYONE! Never have! Thanks for letting me borrow it though. I will drop it off in the production room at work tomorrow, I need to stop in for a quick visit, it will be sent how ever they send things(It won't cost me $$$ this way), OR you can come get it. I can even meet you half way if you want. I'd rather hand it off in person. Then if there is ANYTHING you wish to say to me, That would be the time. I have the next couple days off. Let me know. |

I'm back! took a few days down the cape with the mrs. yeah, my bike's runnin poopy, been that way since we put that race map in it. i thank you, scotty, for the favor, again. i def. wasn't sayin you did anything wrong, i just know the race map aint right. but it was a good free place to start trying to get some more ponies. i know, also, that adjusting fuel map numbers is beyond me, and i've got to spend some time datalogging with someone that knows what they are doing... that's why i tried to get the hookup at eric's, but everyones schedules are nuts. so if anyone feels like they could hook it up, lets hear it, i'm all ears and would certainly be forever grateful. |

chippy, where is the "hole in your map...just curious? i'm running a race ecm in my cityX, i figure the maps are the same. i have a small hole right at 3900 rpm, but it comes right back on at 4k and i only feel it in 1st gear. just possibly it's not the map? i don't know others are better at this stuff than me. |
