Well... other than a new bike... With the 1125CR being released, I'm really wanting it, but it'll be a while before it's in my cards. I repainted my Buell a while ago, but my tank bag is scratching it up pretty good and I'm tired of washing it. My amber wheels are stained. Repainting your bike/car is like getting a new one, so I figured I'd either sell my current set and buy something else to paint or trade my set for a good set and paint it instead. What would be a great, low maintenance paint job? I was actually thinking about the CityX airbox cover and painting everything satin silver with blacked out wheels, rear subframe, etc. Army green wouldn't be bad, but I don't want to make it look like I'm copying No_Rice's bike (I do like the army scheme). |

You could always go for the rat bike look... Couple cans of flat color and spray away!! |

Instead of straight olive drab you could do a camo pattern. |

The best would be to get white pieces and Dye them with RIT Dye. |

Rino-Liner? This is actually a great idea. The stuff is virtually indestructible. There is a 12R somewhere around here that did that to all his bodywork. It actually looks pretty nice, to boot. |

RIT dye is what your Mom used to use to dye clothes. Readily available almost anywhere old ladies shop. |

I've thought about that for the frame... but I don't think it would be terrible for the plastics either... |

Yeah I guy here at HRH picked it up out of PA and it looks better in person. Not that it looks bad in pictures (Message edited by S1wmike on July 23, 2008) |

There are quite a few folks on here that Dyed their White XB9R's around '03 and '04. You would have to search back aways. (Message edited by krassh on July 23, 2008) |

I bottom out my bike, but probably not for the same reasons you do... What tires do you like to run? I'm looking for something decent in the snow (with a sidecar)... |

for chunky muddy mucky riding in the winter I use MT-60s, but they dont give enough knob for snow, you gotta go to something more aggressive and probably not DOT approved. There was something over in the ULY board about MTK's (or some damn acronym brand that I NEVER remember) but you have to remove your front fender to run em. What side car are you running? That damn URAL gives me needs. |

Well... the Ural was on my list until I saw one in person. Not impressed. I can do better by myself. I'm going to make my own sidecar, aerospace type frame, etc. so that I can just mount a tray on there for my bicycle, or a tubular body for the dog/wife/son. I figure if I copy an existing design, I can modify it to my tastes with components I'm okay using |
