Spike, sorry to hear that. I feel bad for him, knowing the pain he'll have to endure for the next several weeks. Hope he's a fast healer. |

I heard my fan making death bearing noises recently, so I replaced it tonight. It was actually a fairly easy job, removing the shock was the only challenging thing. It's back together now. Testride tomorrow. |

Four interesting pictures (5 if you count the zoomed in one) from an interesting weekend.
With attitude (or style depending on your point of view):
And I haven't even caught up from Milwaukee/Germany/Homecoming yet... 1313 |

U4, better count me out for this weekend. Looks like I'll be spending alot of weekend time at Pat's fathers house painting and what not. The plan is to get it ready to put on the market early September. So, if I hope to make the WV rally, I need to help getter done. |

Ok Twig, wish I wern't busy I'd come help. Following the progression of things, we should see an 1125X next year right? Clubman bars on the CR, hmmm can't wait to see how they mounted them so as to mis the shock towers. I know what I had to build to get mine done. |

Brankin - Is that a Buell sticker on the rat rod?
Sorry to disappoint. It's a Genuine Rat Rod Parts sticker - a knock-off of the Genuine Ford Parts sticker. Gee...I thought the NOT a real Daytona Dodge Charger or the shot of Lucifer's Hammer under restoration would attract more comments/attention... U4euh, Do you really think the Helicon engine would make a good engine for an off-road adventure bike? From what a '08 Uly owner at Tilley's mentioned on Sunday, there is not enough low speed capability for off road work. He's contemplating the XB9 primary drive swap, and he has stopped in to say hello in the past. I think the powertrain characteristics of the Helicon would not be very useful for an off-road adventure bike (unless the adventure is picking it up everytime it's dumped due to the power delivery). But that maybe only my thoughts. Personally I am a little disappointed with the 1125CR as a 'Lightning variant' of the 1125R. The tail section is the same as the 1125R and Firebolt, which don't make it a Lightning to me. But with that front end, whether the US market will enjoy it or not, will sell like frickin' gangbusters in Europe! Trust me on that! With the current exchange rate between $ and Euro, PLENTY of profit is to be made targeting European sales... XR1200, MV Agusta/Cagiva acquisition, 1125CR front fairing design... What will be next to target the European market? The new V-Rod Muscle kinda reminds me of the many customized V-Rod's I saw at Hamburg Harley Days, so maybe it counts too... Wunderbar! 1313 |

M2nc, Webe, Do you fellers know when you'll be departing for WV rally? Or where you're departing from? Trying to route it. Maybe from Marion Route 16 all the way. NUTS |

will post them up later, I think I have the primary tnsioner backwards (has a lip on one side) so even with good belt tension it sounds loud, I pulled the inspection cover and tension is good. revs fine just loud, any suggestions? Hey Mikethebike, you have any pic of the inside of a XB primary? |

thats a sportster primary or somthign else, it has a different shifter mechanism, and the tensioner is attached to the houseing not the primary cover (Message edited by SportyMark on July 23, 2008) |

Minor update- Janis is in for surgery on his arm this morning. They're going to set the bone and put a rod through it. My sister seems to be in good spirits about the whole thing, she's been giving me updates from the hospital. I'll let you know if I learn anything else. |

In other news, I heart this: The fairing is growing on me, and the colors really add some contrast and make the bike more attractive overall. If the '09 injection changes work as well as they should and we get ~40mpg and better driveability this could be my next used bike. Fortunately I don't have any money right now, otherwise I might do something rash. |

You know I am waiting in the wings for three reasons on the 1125R. One - I did not want the first model year, to give time for the bugs to be worked out. Two - Though I do like the 1125R's looks, I was not a fan of the '08 color scheme. Three - If I buy another bike before I get the wife new wheels, I am going to be in the dog house. That said, I dig this one a lot!!!
The CR is interesting. I like the looks of the front, but I would have done something for along the lines of an S1 in the back. That would have made the CR just totally radical. Spike, I hope Janis recovery is going well. |

Hi all Brankin and I had an intresting weekend. Cars, bikes, babes, and beer and a good ride. To the few that know my friend terry he crashed his harley last night. He is doing pretty good got out today. He has road rash banged up elboe, broken nose and a fractured cheek. He was getting on I77 and they had repaved right lane and had a 4inch hump between intrance ramp and highway. he hit it and remebered his handle bars shakeing then wakeing up in the hospital. he told me the bike isnt hurt to bad mainly some cosmectic stuff. Just remember the road the changes from day to day |

Well tore lauras bike down last night and put the XB12 primary gear and chain in, got ti all buttoned up with an XB cover and brand new tensioner. Started it and it is loud! thougth it was chain tension got that straight and it is still loud. This afternoon I tore it back down to check to make sure it is not rubbing anywhere or binding, and once again it was fine, not rubbing on the case nothing. Buttoned it back up re set the tension and started it still loud as all get out. took a test ride, rides fine, just loud. Any ideas? and Brankin whoever designed the footpegs and how they mount needs a kick in the nuts |
