Dyna, Glad you'll be at the next mtg. 6:30 - last Tuesday at the I94 shop. I have to warn you, though, I'm prepared to nominate you for the newly created position of "Membership Development and Newsletter Distribution Officer". I think we need some "A-hole" like you to light some fires. WELCOME!! |

Dynarider, Your right, I didn't intentionally intend to exclude older or more experienced riders/owners, I guess I was just thinking selfishly of myself being a new rider !! Or that everyone was a new rider of a Buell at sometime or other and had they been targeted at that time, all the info would already be out there. Or just plain oversimplifying things, Sorry !! You do seem to be the guy to get things done, or at least stirred up to the point that attention is drawn to your cause !! My hat's off to you ! CJM P.S. Let's post about rides, the season is almost over !!! |

You know what they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. And I can be real damn squeaky. I just wanna see people get involved, the more the better. More people=more ideas. I have been active in the HOG chapter for 5 years & I really dont want to see BRAG go that route. HOG is way to regimented, all rides are planned out months in advance & they do pre-rides, etc. Its like the military & it takes the fun away. I prefer to have more spontaneous rides. Just pick a date, everyone show up & just ride to where ever or nowhere. With the HOG group, if you do not include a dinner with the ride nobody shows up. The Harley slogan should be "Eat to ride, Ride to eat". |

...on an unrelated note.... Has this week been unreal weather or what!?! I have a ton of crap I need to haul to work, but I just can't force myself to drive the car. It'll have to wait. Joe, I agree with you that this is the best time of year to ride. Court, a big ol' envelope went out today. However, I wasn't able to find a spare copy of the Fuell mag, so if anyone has a spare May issue.... |

I'd like to get a gander at the newsletter . . . how would I go about doin that? |

Bomber, I hear that in order to ACTUALLY see this newsletter, you need to be a member of the secret clandestine clique. You also have to be able to demonstrate the secret handshake & have both passwords Either that or we just tell em we are really good friends of Brians. |

You know, Dyna, in a way, you're right. The newsletter was only given to local BRAG members and people attending meetings saying they planned on joining. (Some additional copies were available at the counter of the main shop.) The newsletter costs money to produce, and we just couldn't afford to send a copy to everyone. Plus we didn't know who "everyone" was. It made sense to us to send it to the people who paid for it. Now we see that we can use it as a tool to recruit new members. Good news; it looks like the tides are turning. I had a lengthy sit-down with Keith and Eva. They promised FULL DEALER SUPPORT from now on! We have limited access to the computer database of "Buell people" for starters. We will get copies of the newsletter to more Buellers. We will be pushing for new members and we will WELCOME THEM! I really felt a new commitment from Uke's to make us the best BRAG club around! So Dyna, I guess you'll have to grease your own wheels for the time being ;-) More good news: If the gods smile down, the fall issue of the fabled newsletter should be finished in a day or two. Only waiting on a couple submitions. That means I can hand them out at the Open House this Saturday. Yet another reason to attend. Bomber, I like the flyer box idea. I believe the HOG chapter uses that for ride info. Perhaps our Activities Coordinator should implement something like it. Of course, we need an Activities Coordinator first - any volunteers? ...and shhhh Bomber, don'tcha remember the secret password I showed ya at the bar last time?... Enough apologies, let's continue to grow our club with a positive spirit! |

I dont have to grease my wheels. You already did it. You realize now that the newsletter can be an enrollment tool. You had a meeting with Keith & Eva to discuss issues, I like to think that perhaps I was a driving force in that. |

Oh thats just great, we have anonymous here too. He doesnt have to leave Windy City, you can be a member of more than 1 Brag chapter if you so desire. We have several members of our HOG chapter who belong to as many as 3 other chapters. |
