$60 for a paper back manual is ridiculous! Is there not one on DVD? I paid $30 for the full ford service manual on dvd for my 2006 mustang gt. Surely if ford can do it, then buell can do it. I've been searching, but all I find is the paper one. | ||

My manual is getting ratty... Really how much money is buell making on manuals anyways.. Throw in the Manuals a CD.. I'm going to have to buy a new one or have this one rebound, which might be a longer lasting solution... | ||

I need a manual, but dont like having a big book lying around. I also like to be able to search through a PDF, find the pages I need, and print them out. I can get them as dirty as I want, write on them, all that jaz, then toss them out when I am done. I really wish Buell would put a CD verison of the manual with them when you buy it  | ||

I really like having the book that I can jot down notes, staple pages from Badweb into and note related items like various wheel bearing part numbers. One of my favorites of all time is my copy of the John Muir classic VW manual. I keep several of my favorite Ducati manuals, a set for the CL77 Honda 305 Scrambler and the Honda NT650 Hawk. All great reading but the Buells are far superior manuals. | ||

unlike many of you apparently, i do not have a computer in my garage. my garage is down stairs and i have to run upstairs every time i need to look at something like that then. even if i did have a comp in the garage, i would trash it. i get greasy working on things. no matter how well i wipe off my hands it still transfers to things. i suppose i could go wash my hands first but then i am back upstairs where my computer is now... i suppose i could print out the pages i needed that particular time... wait that would be like buying the paper manual! | ||

It's a preference thing for me. Im very much a fan of having all the information digitally stored. This way, it never gets dirty, soiled, lost or misplaced. If needed, I can print out specific pages on demand or simply bring my laptop over to the workbench and use that. If I need to record notes, I can generate an excel sheet or PDF's. The main reason I dislike 'hard copies' is all the clutter that goes along with it. I'm still fairly young :X , but for the various motorbikes, cars, and all the other shop type technical manuals, you end up with large stacks of books/manuals/binders that just sit there for years and years untouched, taking up space. I had huge stacks of textbooks from my years in college that I finally threw out/donated. For me, digital media is easier to archive, both in terms of space and longevity. I backup everything so its' literally not an issue. Organization is a little more cumbersome, but it's just a matter of creating the proper filing structure so that I can remember where everything is. Also, it's paperless, so thats a bit of a plus. but... Saturday I went to install the Dark Knight screensaver on my Macbookpro and got an error. Totally lost everything on my desktop file, everything. Including my '03 'bolt pdf manuals. Took hours to find them again online. So, don't count on cyber too much, and back up. |
