Whats the reason for doing this to my 08 xb12xt, if any. "TPS zero procedure" a. Set the run/stop switch to run b. turn on ignition c. engine off, rotate the throttle closed to open and back 3 times holding the throttle grip against each stop for 1 full second. |

In 08 for the first time, you DON'T have to take it to the dealer for the TPS reset. The throttle position sensor "tells" the ECM where to look on the fuel table for a specific timed shot of fuel. The tables are laid out in Throttle Position and RPM so if there were to be an error in Throttle Position, the ECM would then look up the wrong fuel shot... and the engine could be slightly rich or lean. Same would hold true for the spark tables - the timing would be slightly off. (CAUTION: I'm NOT a Buell tech guy - just an end user/racer - take my inputs with a healthy grain of salt) |
