As per rumors floating around here, I got the bad news today from my dealer. I bought a Micron full system for my SS about 2 weeks ago, then about a week ago the front header broke off! My dealer has been trying to hunt down replacement parts, but are not having much luck yet. Perhaps this is the next Race Kit, and will end up selling for 4x as much on ebay... |

Sounds like it may be time to locate a good tig welder. Be very careful when installing the pipe so that it is not under stress when you tighten everything up or it will break again. We have seen this many times on race bikes. Hang it on the bike, and put everything together before tightening anything down. This will save you headaches in the long run. |

Yea it might come down to that. From what i heard Micron had a quality control issue and i am not the only one that this has happened to. I am mostly pissed because a system like this that costs almost a grand would have this issue. |

Froggy, the old Buell race kits for the Tubers was over $1K, and still break headers on a regular basis, so don't feel too bad |

they didnt go broke, they just stopped making cycle exhaust. Micron makes a killing in the auto industry. Most hi dollar supercars have micron exhaust. |

I love my Micron exhaust... it sounds and looks wicked. I agree however, that the installation needs to be done in a manner that keeps the pipes relatively stress free. Has anyone installed them on an '08? Mine doesn't fit perfectly, but I've made it work... just curious what other people's experience has been. |

Is this really true? I looked online, but I haven't found any concrete proof. Micron's site is still up and the online ordering still seems to work. |

Micron have gone into administration and will not be supplying any more exhausts. Period. What is annoying to us is that they were still taking orders and payments from dealers right up until the doors closed, even though there was no chance of delivery! We have been trying to contact them all of last week, and eventually managed to speak to someone at Exhaust Tech (Micron parent company) on Friday, who confirmed our worst fears and stated that we would not be recieving any of our orders. |

"Micron have gone into administration and will not be supplying any more exhausts. Period." By administration, do you mean bankruptcy? (Message edited by Boltrider on July 21, 2008) |

I called their US distributor, Annitori or something, and ordered one up for my '08. They claimed that they were receiving a shipment at that time (1 month ago) and I received my exhaust system the same week. It was the fastest delivery of a large shipment I've ever seen! |

This sucks. Micron not only made, arguably, the best Buell exhaust, but they were one of the very few offered in the US. Now I guess I have to figure out how to get a Termignoni. |

Now I guess I have to figure out how to get a Termignoni. We can get these if you really want one. We don't stock them but could order one specially. |

We bought every micron Buell system in the US, and have pretty decent stock on them at this time. But, when they are gone, there will be no more. And there is no Manufacturer's warranty support on them any more obviously. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9085.html |
