parts coming. As of right now, the light kit is only red/red (for fire) or red/blue for police. I am trying to get anyone that will listen to make a lense set in clear/clear so we can have them as civilian accessories ! They are supposed to be LED aux lights, pretty bright, and use the stock stater/regulator. I keep hitting my head on no's. I seem to be good at that. Depending on the size , I have a sneaky suspicion that there will be a clear lense from an after market supplier. And I want that big get the hell out of my lane Horn for my bike too. *I have been instructed by mgt to leave it all in the box until the Police Unit shows up. I will post pics and get parts listing as I can (Message edited by cityxslicker on July 18, 2008) (Message edited by cityxslicker on July 18, 2008) |

Awesome. I am mostly curious on things like the bracket itself, how sturdy it is and stuff. Also would be nice to see if it uses that new accessory plug and how its switched |

They look like they are factory installed, just like the XT, I dont know if they will be available as an accessory item, but for the smaller bikes (ie lightnings) a 30 liter bag makes more since, esp since it would be lockable . I will do what I can. (which is usually make alot of noise and get muddy until it attracts attention) |

Slicker: Do you know if there will be a Police Supplement Parts and Service Manual like there is for Electral and Road Glides? Thanks Buells to Alaska ALCAN 5000 2010 |

I will fire off an email to the district contact for that . Typically you have to have a department purchase order to get those parts (ie to limit the possibility of impersonation issues) But we have had good luck getting floor boards for sportsters (the meter readers have them on their Xl's, it is not a civilian accessory item.) |

We ride a FHLTPI to work daily and it is an old/ex Cop Bike. Have no issues getting Cop Specific parts, including wiring harnesses, strobes, and etc. Appreciate the assistance Buells to Alaska ALCAN 5000 2010 |

Brian- really looking forward to seeing how this works out. Hopefully we'll find that some off-the-shelf clear lense fits on them. Seems like it's a no-brainer for the factory to offer a clear version as an accessory. |

You would think... they also dont seem to offer the smaller bag set independently of the Police model... I am thinking that those smaller bags would give Lightnings a hard bag option direct from Buell, with just the right brackets (we know H&B already makes those) |

Possibly able to replace the Red/Blue with the same Quartz Lights that are currently used for existing Cop bikes. Can not see HD/Buell sourcing a different part for the Police Buell, but will have to wait and see. YRMV Buells to Alaska ALCAN 5000 2010 |

New bags are listed as "outdoorsman" bags and available on the new website for 2009, triple set and just left and right available. Still working on finding out about the lights. |

Just looking at the Kuryaken catalogue they seem to have clear lenses in most universal sizes, so if we cant get them from E Troy maybe kansas can help I will let you all know when I get the parts. I am as anxious for it as you all are. |

Our bike leaves the factory 8/14 to arrive here 8/20, to be set up and ready to demo by 8/22. The district fleet services rep had the emergency kit for the bike dropped off. It doesnt look like the kit can be parsed out by item. I will know more as the program progresses. I will take pics as the parts come together. Sorry for no new update but that is all I have at this time. |
