Chris, yes they have changed but it is hard to tell a dealership by just one area like sales or service. It is near impossible to find a dealership that is good at sales, service, parts etc...

PPHD's approach to sales reminds me of used car salesman approach. I think at last count they had 9 1125Rs on the floor for only 14K out the door. Every other Buell is marked at 500 over MSRP. They will come down on price but if you have a trade in and it is a Buell they will screw you.

In the mid 90's PPHD was a great Buell dealership but it has been sold to a new owner and IMO has gone down hill ever since. I had my 07 XB12R serviced there and I must say they did a good job and everything was done to spec. They called me when it was done and it was done when they said it would be. However, I have ten other instances when this was not the case. This is true with my HDs and Buells.

I have found that most great Buell dealerships are also great HD dealerships. PPHD is growing fast and now carry many different types of bikes. They have shunned the local Buell group and have embraced the Moto Guzzi and other brand of sportbike crowd.

The difference between a so-so Buell dealership and a great Buell dealership is usually because of just one or two people that are enthusiastic about the brand. One person here local bought his 1125R in FL and not only got a great deal with people he likes and trust but also got a great adventure out of it and did not support PPHD. I am getting ready to buy a Uly and will buying it in NM from a dealership I trust 300 miles away.

I have tried to work with this dealership on numerous occasions with events related to Buell no it is always a no go. I am usually ignored and have been outright lied to.

I would really like to see them drop Buell. I do not think they should be allowed the opportunity to sell a product they have little interest in except for what kind of profit they can make off of the Buell name. It seems to me they would be more interested in repeat customers than a one time deal to make a little cash. But that is just me. Sorry for the long rant. Frank

"I am usually ignored and have been outright lied to"

I was also blatantly lied to ... that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. So I went 60 miles and bought the 1125R and got a great price and great service.

Sruzhyo, do you think they would be willing to do that again, for some us other 1125R owners? I've always had a good experience at APEX.

Lately I have been taking my rims to American Motorcycle on I24 by Peterson AFB. They advertise that they work on all American V-Twins but they will not touch a Buell unless it is something like a tire or oil change. I would not trust them with a 1125R but they have been good when I needed tires put on but I take them off the bike first. Plus it is cheaper that way. They have done tire changes on XBs that I know for sure.

Tomorrow I need to take a rim down there to have the brake rotor taken off. I broke three allen tools trying to get it off and that is with heat. I also need to have the pistons taken out of a front brake caliper in order to rebuild it and I cannot figure how to get them out. I tried air but my compressor does not work that great.

They are usually good for stuff like that. Other than that I really don't know about their service.

F_skinner and Helicon

Have you guys tried Torque (on platte) its east of I25 for tire replacement?

I talked to him a bit a few years back right after he opened the place and the guy would pretty much bend over backwards for any biker. I know I bought some gear from him. He is a pro-military guy as well. If I remember right he used to be a CW3 at Carson.

I do know the last time I needed tires I had to go up to Denver for it, I cant even remember the place but it was one of the big Honda dealers and they had a buy the rear tire get the front tire promotions. Of course the rear went at like 250 but I still felt I got decent deal.

And if you ever see an 04 Yellow XB12R in the Springs make sure you run the bastard over, try not to hurt the bike. It was stolen 2 years ago now and I still harbor a little bit of animosity...

Hampton Roads H-D & Buell mounts the tire for free when you buy it from them. No matter the brand as long as it is purchased from them. The only thing they charge is less than $20 for balancing and tire disposal. I should know cuz I work there. I'm one of the parts guys.

Helicon, I dunno man. It sounds like as a rule they don't do it, but since I was up here just as a tourist w/o my tools they hooked it up.

Apparently there's a guy CJ who knows Buells, but I'm guessing they don't have the buell service manuals or something...who knows? : )

And American Motorcycle? I was going to go there but they wanted $70 a tire, and I'd have had to wait another couple days.

Good times : )

They charged me 20 a tire and I have always just walked in. I guess it depends on what is going on there. I was not too happy with them today....

Sruzhyo, this is a little late but if you need to use tools, garage or whatever you are welcome to mine. Frank

I think it is pretty standard billing rates on Buells and Harley's that it is one hour to change a rear tire, tire on bike. Labor rates may very though. At High Cntry H-D/Buell it is $85 an hour, not $94.
