Harley Davidson of Washington, D.C. is dropping the Buell line and they have one remaining new Buell on the floor: A 2008 Buell 1125r, brand new, for $9,000. The nubs are all still on the tires. I was really tempted, but I realized that I am just much more comfortable on my Lightning Long. So, before I go back and do something stupid, would one of you PLEASE buy the bike? With all the members and folks for the cause here, why don't we all pitch in and just grab this deal? We could then find a worthy racer to help his/her effort OR auction her off for a charity ala Bad Web style? I'm good for a "c" note, any ideas? |

There's been a string on that sale in the quick board since the 11th. They're dropping Buell and selling off their inventory. Very tempting price on the 1125r. http://www.hdwash.com/images/BUELLblowoutpage.htm |

I would toss in some cash for a raffle. Everyone pitch in, we draw a name from the hat, and the winner gets the bike. |

Hey Blake you following this? I think there is a larger opportunity for BadWeb members to sponsor one of our own. Take for example Slaughter who currently does not have a working race ride. I'd be willing to commit to a regular $20 a month donation for such an effort. Some folks could be 1 time or annual contributors others regular monthly contributors. Get enough members willing to participate in such a program and Badweb could have a pretty good ongoing sponsorship fund. |

If rumors are true that Buell is restructuring the dealer network, I wonder how many other "steals" we'll find this fall? M |

Time and word of mouth is of the essence on this one. I just thought it could be a benefit to the cause and maybe help another by suggesting such. No matter, when I give my word for a "c", I will follow suit, even if Badweb opens a paypal account for this effort and requests the 3% on top of that pledge...hint, hint. I remain "in" and will hit the PAY NOW key. Any other input/support here? And if anyone buys this 11 before we get too far along for SOMEONE to make a commitment on a business level w/the dealer, PLEASE let this thread know it in a big bold post! It is difficult to keep up with all the threads here...I do NOT envy the administrators here! Thanks! mm |

Im in for $100 I would also be happy to volunteer as the BadWeb member/Buell racer with too many bills and a baby on the way in need of a 1125R. It would be awesome to ride the Official Team Badweatherbikers.com sponsored 1125R! Seth CCS/ASRA# 148 |

Count me in for 100 beans too...I miss some threads, so PM if we get enough and I'll be glad to pay the collector! If nobody races the thing, we can always donate it to Erik! You know, sort of like giving back to the community... |

Krassh - The Drummer's designed and some raw parts are on order at the water jet fabricator. The initial front bracket design will be a custom hand fabrication. |

Steve, I will be at the TPM day. If you still have your 1125R at that time, Id be happy to make sure its running properly for you. Smoke, your poster is in the mail, and congrats on both of your Iron Butt rides. I would not be surprised if you are one of if not the first to Iron Butt on a 1125R. Blake, where do we send our money? Seth |

Hi Jerseyguy, Hate to sound like I'm behind the power curve on this one, (because I am!) but, what's up with the "drummer"? Is there a reinvention of the stock 1125R exhaust on the way for those of us who like the stock look, but, want to get some some good sound and breatheability???????? Thanx, Tracy |

Tracy, The 1125 Drummer will not be a rework of the stock pipe. |

That hurts for any wanting 'stealth' performance. Stealth being "why no officer it's a stock exhaust, see the street legal stamp" |

Put me in for a Franklin as well. Just let me know when everything is set up. Would be pretty cool being part of the first Badweb sponsored racer. Thanks Blake for a great web site! I really don't think we don't say thanks enough! Without this site, I would be utterly lost... |

I'm a Bueller and had to sell my Firebolt last year to pay a debt. Waiting to buy the 1125r. I live in DC and I'd be interested in a race team as well. I've never raced but a collaboration between a bunch of us may just be able to make it happen. It'd take a bit of organizing and effort but it could be done. No matter where the 1125 comes from, the whole idea is well worth investigating. If there is anyone on here who has had or been part of a race team please chime in and give up some info and guidance. I don't know who came up with the idea but I think it's brilliant. I'm in for at least $200. USA Baby!! (Message edited by usmoto on July 18, 2008) |

This is a great Idea. I will also donate $100.00 toward the cause. Personally I prefer they the team builds a used one as they soon will be showing up for even less than the $9,000 new one. I would think $7,000ish this winter use the extra for race parts and tires. |
