Why a hall of shame? 'Cause I am getting Buellers together to thank the man who started and shares our obsesion for motocycles. |

Eri"K" (unless of course you are refering to a different Eri"C" ) I think it's completely fantastic that you came up with the idea. I'm in the Milwaukee area, so if there is anything you need let me know. I can even go see Leslie, since her office isn't very far away from me either. Jerry |

Spidey, I'm in the western suburbs of Milwaukee County. I'm about 30-35 miles from East Troy by intersate. If I take the really good roads, it is sometimes more like 60-70 miles. A quick ride either way. Jerry |

Could you see if there are any large meeting areas that we could assemble a large group of motorcycles in to get organized before we head off to East Troy? |

Hal's HD/Buell is only 4 miles from me. They are home to the world's largest HOG chapter (~2,000 members, ~700 active) They run large rides all the time, so I can talk to the owner and see if we can set it up there. Hal's races Buells and has one of the largest areas dedicated to Buells I have seen. It would be about a 30 to 50 minute ride to East Troy from there, depending on the route. The owner is a good guy and has helped out our BRAG club in the past. Does that sound good? Or would you like to stay away from dealerships and the like? Jerry |

Spidey, one other thing we have to take into account is Erik's schedule. I will get his secratary in on this so we can ensure that he will be around when we do this. Also I am thinkg we need to take this topic off list and begin to do this either via a BBS pagethat doesn't showup on badweb (Blake could you do this?) or via email. It would veryneat to surprise Erik buttheonger we talk about it here the more likely he will find out. Dave |

Dave as much as i want to keep this a secret we will never be able to get as many people involved as we could here and through Fuell which reminds me i have to call Leslie. NO Hal's would be an awesome place to meet i was there for Homecomming and it is a beutiful dealership. |

Spidey, I agree that this wouldn't be as cool without getting as many Buell riders involved as possible. I'm sure it's already a forgone conclusion that Erik already knows about this. Lets wait to pick a meeting point until after we have a date. I personally don't care where we meet. I need to know the date first (yes, I have to schedule my weekends that far in advance because I have a sh!tty job) Let me know if there is anything I can do at this point! Mennis |

Spidey, probably right. As for a date, I have been assuming we are doing this on a weekday? We would get less people but getting Erik on a weekend will not only be tough but also an inconvenience for him. If we can do Monday to Friday during normal business hours I think it would be cool. Dave |

Hal's would be great. However, I would recommend if there is any way we could have Erik available on a weekend, that we do it then. I definitely want to go, but there is just no way I can cut out on a weekday...I would guess that many others will have the same problem. |

Spider, for a summer Friday we will have to work around BRAG events. Erik probably gets every other weekend off in the summer because of all the BRAG events and Friday is often a travel day with a very late Sunday night return. If we did it mid week we would have many more dates available to us. Snow, see above, Erik barely has enough time for his family as is. I can't see how we could do a weekend. Also it would be very nice if the employees at the factory could be there. They would very much enjoy it and they certainly deserve to share in any birthday celebration. Dave |

Weekend DEFINITELY out. Anyone have 4 teenagers and an every other weekend travel schedule? My bet would be on a Thursday and shoot for mid-afternoon. I'd suggest we meet somewhere near Monterey, CA and head toward Exit 36 on I-84. But them you know me and Buells Court P.S. - know about it or not, Erik would be moved and genuinely appreciative. |

Mid afternoon on a thursday works for me! Then what? You guys want to make a weekend of it? Set up some rides in the Kettle? Big cookout? I told my boss what we were trying to plan and she was all excited. Might even be able to get her to spring for some chow to cook. Ride to the edge! Spider, can't really do it. The actual check to Barry hart was sometine in early 1983 but all the parts and such did not arrive in one batch. My thought is we just pick an arbitrary date and go party. 1983 is as close as we can get. Dave |

Are y'all possibly making this too complicated? Could you not combine the 20 Years Anniversary celebration with a BRAG event already slated for next year, like a Buell homecoming event maybe? That way it could be on/over a weekend. Just a suggestion. |

WOW look at the brain on Blake My biggest fear is that if (a big IF) they have a homecoming, it will be tied into a Harley event. |

That was my original plan to revolve it around said possible event, But until i get to talk to Leslie (she was busy today) I won't know for sure. But like Lake said,"My biggest fear is that if (a big IF) they have a homecoming, it will be tied into a Harley event." There probally won't be a Homecomming Next year due to the negative response from a few people. |

The Said reason there wasn't a homecomming this year was (not an exact quote):: Not enough good riding ie: roads and twisties, not enough to do, too far away from where i live. And a few others to me it isn't that negative but to a huge company it is. So they decided to do two Bi-cosatl events this and the next couple of years. So that they will be closer and the roads will never end. Even though the Pocono trip did get fogged out. |

My point was that why would negative comments from a few people have nay effect on planning of a homecoming event. Every homecoming has been bigger and better than the prior years event. |

Hey that is the reason BRAG gave me when i asked why there wasn't a Homecomming in 2002. |

That's the same reason I received when asking about a '02 homecoming. However, I see the reasoning behind having the Buell Adventures. It opens up more opportunities for Buell riders from other parts of the country. As for a lack of twisty roads in Wisconsin, anyone that says that hasn't been in Dave's "neck of the woods". West-Central Wisconsin has some great roads with very little traffic. You just need to watch for cows, deer & John Deere Mennis T minus 1 month & 1 day until Slimey Crud |
