If you're just worried about a headlight mount, use a set of non-M2 Tuber headlight brackets. You can run a 7" headlight and a fairing from a Ducati Monster, Tuber Buell, or Suzuki SV or Bandit. |

hey puddle pirate. what about the weather latly! great riding weather. i dont even know what a ducati monster looks like. lol. I need to get some knowledge on other bikes specs, ive always focused on the power plants, now im learning (slowly) specs like suspension etc. im gonna just bit on a set of tuber or xb front end. and see where it goes. hopefully i wont waste a lot of money. |

oh and i was picturing using a firebolts front end and leaving the fairing on it. i think it would look cool. since my bike will be a streettracker it might look neat, or godly |

The firebolt's front fairing bolts directly to the frame, not to the forks. You'd have to weld on a mounting tab to your frame to get the firebolt fairing to fit, unless you got very creative. Weather has been great, too bad I've been spending all my time working. When are you going to finish your 99" motor so you can let me ride it? If you want round headlights, either rig up a standard 7" one, or how about a pair from a Triumph Speed Triple? They stick out a bit much for my taste, but they don't look bad when mounted. |

well ive seemed to find a x1 front end and wheels that i might pick up. so all i need to do is get the dash and im set. oh and some clip ons. this is all for the 99" im getting my new sportster roller on monday. so i need to put a new backbone in it. like www.simmonscompetition.com offers. so i can work on the motor and not have to take it out of the frame. then the new front end. then hopefully a x1 swingarm!! gotta figure out the mountin of the shock. any one have close ups of the shock mounts. also the swingarm pivot. id rather know a little more before buying a swingarm and shock. but back to ur question puddlepirate i still need to send my motor away for the all out treat ment. comes to about 2600 with shipping. should be at 130hp and not sure about the tq but i imagine at 3000rpms im over 1000. yah i would love to share the holy sh~t! ill keep u posted. we'll have to hang out some time. do u have any good machine shops by u? and cheap

I'll let you know all about the Buell swingarm when mine is closer to being finished. Mine is coming along nicely right now, but I'm not giving away details yet. I'm not the type of person where I can start one project, finish it, and then move onto another. I've got to have 5 things going on at once, and then work on them little by little and take 10x as long to finish. Shows my OCD and 0 patience. I have slight access to a machine shop. A guy I know is going for his associates, so I can use him from time to time. What do you need done, and I can run it by him? I look forward to your updates. |

which buell swing arm? this is goin on a sportster i imagine. im thinkin about the x1, but my only consern is that i wont be able to extend it without major work. do u know if its longer then the sportster swingarm. i like to drag race so with this 99" its gonna be really tough keeping the front end down. so im lookin at at least 4 over. not that i dont like doin wheelies, but i would like to have the option when i do them. not when i dont. dont worry im with the press it will be only between us 207 416 6116. what u doin hehe or what about patient confidentiality |

Waiting on more parts right now. Still trying to figure out how to mount the shock, and working on alignment. This is the newer style tuber arm, I don't think you can extend it based on the shape. I know you can the older ones though. I didn't think to measure it against the stock one yet, but it is longer overall with the mount on it, I'm guessing by 3-4". I'm not willing to let any more details go until I'm closer to completion, sorry. |
