I hate to ask this question, but it may be fair to ask. What can a person expect to pay for a new XB12xt not counting the taxes? There has been so much hype about this new bike, and dealer stock is low if they have any at all. Do most of them get sold at full SRP? I have enjoyed my XB12s since 2004, and the time may have come to carry a passenger more often, so you see why the xt may be my next best bet. I know if I do find one in a showroom, and they let me ride it, I will be jelly in a dealers fingers. So before I get to that point, what can I expect for a deal? Do most come off of SRP or is every buyer as anxious as I am? Should I expect other things as well, service plans, extended warranties, accessories, or discounts on accessories with purchase? It's been so long since I have purchased a new bike, I didn't know what to expect. I am thinking if a dealer happens to have an xt on the floow when the 2009's are announced, they may deal, but I cannot imagine that happening. Thanks for your input, it is greatly apprecatied. -=shrugs=- I got mine for a bit under MSRP (2 weeks ago). Not a ton, but enough to make me feel happy about the whole thing. I didn't get any 'extras' or I doubt I'd have gotten that. They originally tried telling me the bags were extra. Phaugh - I put the kibosh on that really quick. They only had it on the floor for a little over a week, apparently. One person test rode it before I got my claws on it, but they ended up buying the X that was sitting next to it instead (I actually ran into that guy when I was there for my test ride). Of course, this varies wildly dealer to dealer. Overall I think new bike sales (at least the more expensive makes/models) are down this year in the US, but two wheeled transportation as a whole is definitely on the rise. I know the few we've gotten have been sold at MSRP. As you said, you will be jelly after a test ride. It's worth every penny, and then some. I own an X, and can't believe the night and day difference between it and the XT. It's nearly hard to believe its the same platform. |

I paid MSRP in April for an XT that wasn't even yet on the floor. It was one of those "must have bike..." moments. |

I got my XT right off the showroom floor, about a grand under MSRP, from Greatlakes HD. in Bay City MI. They were AWESOME to deal with. No games, just business! I would highly recommend these guys. The XT is without a doubt, the most fun bike I've ever had! It make my brother Green when I go by his R1150 GS, (on the rear wheel). |

XT & X are different enough, at least in the case of the 08 ULY. That fork neck clock angle is a big deal for bike turning radius, though the seat height of the XT is better for shorter riders. |

You guys are the Shizzle! I have loved this forum for just this reason. Buell ought to sponsor us for all this hype created! Not only have I had help finding XT's in my tri-state region, I have gotten calls from dealers with them in stock. So now I need to go test ride this weekend. The biggest point to be made at this time in the summer now is, do I pay SRP on remaining stock knowing that HD announces their 2009 models next week with Buell to follow? SRP on a 2009 (with a wait of course) or beating for some incentive to take the 2008 off their floor now. It's all in the pitch at this point, especially since the closest one to me is not my first color choice. I think there are enough of these around that I can wait until the 2009's are announced to see what it does to dealer stock and dealer push. Thanks again all! If anyone knows of anyone looking for a well taken care of 2004 XB12S with Factory Race Kit, it may be in the used bike section soon. Mark Lawson Fargo, ND |

At this point, I would wait a few days to see whats up with the 09s. Doubt and major changes, but perhaps there is something that you would like on them. |

Ditto what Froggy suggested. We are betting that the XT line will get the 08 Uly front suspension, an upgraded VR/Stator, and revised wheel bearings, all items that could easily be retrofitted to an 08. Possibly new colors -? Time will tell Buells to Alaska ALCAN 5000 2010 |

Mary Kay's mansion is for sale and that babe is seriously sick looking . . . >>>Buell ought to sponsor us for all this hype created! Not much different this year than it was in 1988 with the rumor of Buell dropping the XR-1000 motor.

Green Cars, Peanuts and $50 bills were a no-no in NASCAR for years. Kenny Burnstein and Quaker Stated changed that, Peanuts and $50 bills are still a bit "strange" in the NASCAR Garage, but Green Cars are around Buells to Alaska ALCAN 5000 2010 (Message edited by buelldualsport on July 16, 2008) |

While *I* wouldn't ride it, so help me, that pink Uly actually looks really cool. If my wife or daughter wanted one though, I think it would look great (though make the wheels match). |
