As pointed out here a Kawasaki adjustable brake lever will work on the tubers. I just completed the install. Though not a true plug n play it was easy. The lever tip that engages the master cylinder was too long. I ground off about 1/8" touch up with some black enamel.

When I got a brake lever for mine it bolted straight on. It was a cheap aftermarket lever from the local Suzuki dealer.

Does the clutch lever from anything else (Kawasaki/Suzuki etc) fit an '02 X1?

Mine, aftermarket part, made for Yamaha was a plug and play too.Rode this thing 4 years.
If it fitted my 2002 Cyclone,it should work for a ´02 X1 as well.
Now I´m happy with my CRG levers.

Al at American Sport Bike carries the CRG levers. I have the short ones on my S1 and love them. They can be adjusted on the fly with one finger. Not cheap but top quality
