Without going into the archives to see, I'm not sure how many Buellers are around here... My wife & I are originally from Emporia and have just moved back "home" after being in Illinois for the past, nearly 14yrs. It was a bit of a drag that Buell dropped the BRAG stuff, but to us it wasn't much more than that. Our group in IL / IN still did it's thing. We just liked to ride. Name didn't matter. So with that in mind, hopefully that spirit isn't completely dead around here. We will be out & about. Hopefully, we'll meet up with all of you at some point and start laying down some miles together! We're in the Parkville area. Keep your eye's peeled for both a yellow & a black XB9S, as well as an orange 12X. Seems like there is some bad blood with a certain dealership around here, but as of right now, I'm not oppossed to stopping by for a free hot dog or hamburger every now & again. ...Had one of each just a couple of weeks ago while I waited to have tires mounted on the wheels I took in. Best price I've found for that so far, by the way too! (Needed fresh tires that didn't have the belts showing to take to Homecoming! - Heard from someone while we were there that there were a couple people from KC there besides us.) Anyway, just thought I'd drop in and say hi! ...don't know what we're doing tomorrow yet for sure... Bike or boat? See you all 'round!? Shawn & Heather aka BUELET / CRIKEY & DINKS |

There's no bad blood with any dealership. The whole riding places together on Buells thing is pretty much dead around here. However, there are quite a few characters from ADVrider that get together for BBQ about once a month. Look in the Regional section of that forum for a thread called "Kansas Riders." |

I do miss everybody riding together, there's nothing like the sound of a dozen buells roaring down the highway! I live down the street from Lowflyer and might be moving up towards the Parkville area in September so I'll keep an eye out for you guys. For anybody living on the KS side or up north I'd say take your bike to Riverfront HD in Lawrence. |

Thanks for the heads-up about the "Kansas Riders" on ADVrider. I'll check that out too. Looks like to today is a bust for any outdoor activities so far. The day is still young though! As far as being "local" goes for me... That's a pretty broad term as far as I'm concerned. Anyone w/in about an hour to hour and a half if near enough to meet up and ride with for us. Thanks for the replies, guys! |

Buelet, there is a guy in emporia, i think is name is Don Seaman. Owns 3 buells and rides to cassoday every month. I don't know if he is a member here, met him in cassoday. By the way caasoday,KS is a meet the first sunday of every month. I've been trying to go there this year, but with kid, weather and such haven't made it. Like to go there in august. See you there? |

Tom - Thanks for the heads-up about Cassoday. We haven't been there during the ride times, but have ridden the area on our own a couple of times now. Last Sunday we met up with 11 other bikes (sport bike mix - we were the only 2 Buells) and rode to Alma and on to Manhattan, then Wamego and so on. For us it ended up being almost a 400 mile day. Good ride. That group tries to ride every weekend. If anyone is interested in joining up with us, let me know. We've only ridden with them once, but everyone was friendly. I'm sure we'll do a Cassoday on ride day ride one of these times. If so, and if not before, we'll see you there! By the way - Out riding around the KC area this afternoon and it's a scorcher!! |

Beulet, Sunday august 3rd will be going to Cassoday with a couple of other Buell riders. Going early and probably be gone from there by noon to avoid the august heat. |

Sounds like a plan. That day happens to be my B-day, but I'm not sure what we'll be doing. May need to go out of town / state for the weekend, plus we have a family reunion that day also. If things work out, we'll ride, but it's too soon to tell. I'll let you know if we can make the ride. Till next time! |

Hello KC area Buellers, I live in Lee's Summit and would love to get together with other Buell owners for rides, bike nights, bench racing, etc. I just recently (July) got back into riding a Buell, 1996 S2T, and just love it. I also have a chopper I built in 2005 using the engine out of my old 2000 X1 Lightning. I know some of you will think that is sacrilidge, but I just had to do it. I look forward to hearing from other Buell riders. |

Hey Mo, There are several of us here in KC that have both Buells and Buell chops (see my profile). Most of us hangout in the KCLW board just as an FYI. I will have to admit we have not been very active on here. But over a good bunch of people. |

Fester, Thanks for the info on the KCLW board. I see you used one of Frank's frames for your Street Fighter, looks nice. I also used a MC Worx frame for my chopper. |

Photos of my "new" scooter. It a '02 S3T and it had 2400 miles on it when I picked it up in Maryland two weeks ago. On the way back I stopped at the AMA museum. I seller had all the take off parts like the lower fairings...etc. I had those shipped back to me and will get those put back on along with the stock exhaust and airbox to quiet it done. Has the race kit on it and it's pretty loud for my taste! I'm keeping the XB12R too.

Jeff, I already do love the bike and it does have lots of personality. Right now it's being a garage queen with a failed front isolator. No big deal...I ordered the part and I'll put it on and be back to riding her. Right now I just need to find a hot fit chick that is willing to push the darn thing. You find them out west right?? |

Welcome to the MOB! ...Come to think of it, I don't really know what the 120 & MOB really stand for? Anyone? BTW - Just returned from a weekend ride in / around Eureka Springs, AR and it was awesome! Hope to make a return trip before too long. Also, my 19-20yr old cousin kept joking with me about riding a "Real" bike... His '05 ZX-10R for my '06 Uly. Bad move... for him! After the next stretch of road was done, he could barely pull his helmet off from over the huge SEG grin he had! He loved it. LOL So his winter project is now to get a Buell, instead of all of the plans he had for his 2000 ZRX. If anyone is looking for a 2000 ZRX w/ 17,000 miles - he's asking $3600 I believe. And, welcome again Bearracing! |

The MOB started out as a great bunch of guys that love to ride getting together and having a great time. We developed a group on the board called the KCMOB and it was gobbled up by buellocracy when we allowed Gails HD to run our meetings and then it died down to what is left now. Alot of us are out there still just lurking around the corner waiting for another ride. Mr Cobb and I had a nice ride Sunday afternoon, wish you all could have been there. |

That is too funny!! I thought I was seriously making some stuff up there for a little while. I looked all over and couldn't figure out where I saw the 120. (In the email notification subject - duh!) Yeah, that's a little embarrassing, but that's alright! Lowflyer - Was that you pulling out of Gail's on Saturday as my wife & I (Orange Uly & Yellow XB9S) were pulling in? |

I'll never forget my first MOB meeting. It was a very cold December night (a Thursday) and I had literally just bought my first Buell 2 weeks prior. Good ol Dennis invited me and it was at the mexican restaurant just off K-7 (I can't remember the name of it now). Everybody was real friendly and I remember being a bit nervous. After all, it was my first motorcycle gang meeting... Rusty was giving me newbie advice and I remember I was asking dumb questions about which exhaust I could get that was the loudest. Dennis gave out free digital tire pressure gauges (that I still use to this day!) and Sam rode his white XB Firebolt, despite temps in the 30's. I also witnessed the mother of all saves that night. Sam goosed it a bit leaving the parking lot and with the cold tires the bike whipped 90 degrees to the left, then violently 180 degrees back to the right, where he then proceeded to head home like nothing had happened. That was the beginning chapter of many more to follow... |
