Wow. As rearward looking as *some* of the H-D dealers are, the honchos at the mothership are certainly forward looking. They've been there, done that with Aermacchi, but that was a different time and different company and different management. Should be interesting. I wonder if Erik's influence is about to spread? |

The engines they use are proprietary MV Agusta engines. The fastest stuff out there. Started as 750cc inline 4 and are now 1078cc and 910cc with radial valves. Works of art Chas |

Are they going to put those in the back of the dealer showrooms with the 2 buells? Maybe the Buells will get stuck in the mop closet. |

My local dealer, Bumpus HD in Murfreesboro, TN, has their Buells displayed proudly in the front of the store right as you walk in. Several of the sales guys and managers wear Buell shirts as well. |

Or, for those of us who are less grumpy and prefer to look at a glass as half-full...maybe HD is planning to expand the sporting side and maybe even give Buell the chance to be shown in a showroom *other* than an HD showroom...... Pure speculation, but one can hope. |

Las Vegas Harley Davidson has their Buells in the front as well! They are the first bikes you see as you walk in the door. Of course I purchased my bike from Red Rock Harley Davidson, who isn't even a Buell dealer yet. Although they plan to be in a few months when they open their new location. But anyway..., this is off topic!

It would be nice to see the Buell line out of some the H-D dealerships. The MV is sexy. I'd spill my half-full glass on the floor when looking at the price tag though.} |

Cycle-Connection in Joplin Mo. has the Buells on the main showroom floor next to the Sportsters. I'm gonna beat the drum again, Best service after the sale I've had on any product! |

It is really interesting that an article about HD buying MV Augusta and going after the european sportbike market does not have even one mention of Buell. Nada. Surely there is some way that this move is going to work to the benefit of Buell and the separation from HD showrooms and marketing, at least in Europe and hopefully here. Yes, there are some good HD/Buell dealers and they should be kept, but for the marque to move ahead there needs to be a separate marketing and sales direction. Why not in a showroom with an expanded line from MV and Cagiva. Sportbikes and commuter bikes with prices from $5000 to $50,000. |

Let's see here; We know that Buells in Harley shops is not working that well. We know that HD sales are down and Buell sales are up. We know that MV is closer to the same kind of bike as a Buell but more expensive. We can add all this up and possibly find that; Buell will be moving in with MV Dealerships? Buell sales could bennefit large by being parked next to higher priced, somewhat similar machines on a showroom floor. If MV's don't sell, HD could delete them, and I think it makes sense too under specific conditions, leaving a network of BUELL SHOPS!!! OK, I know that the above is wild speculation on my part but a guy can dream, can't he? |

MV is a boutique bike and will probably have high margins after HD spends some time with them, MV and Buell will probably compete for many of the same customers...any bets as to which brand will receive the most sales support ? |

and the separation from HD showrooms and marketing, at least in Europe and hopefully here. I'm pretty sure the idea is to put Harleys in MV dealerships. Not separate anything. Presumably Buells in MV dealerships as well. |
