Could anyone tell me what the value of a 1996 S2 with narrow bags would be worth? It has 4000km on the motor and I am pretty sure its stock. |

Depends on the condition and how much you want it.I picked up one in may with 5600m for $5300.00,but have since seen even better(lower) prices than that.Check prices on Cycle Trader on line to get an idea of market. Then buy it--you will love it. |

Newfie, I just tried to pick one up at an auction on Monday. I know the owner, he had a minor altercation with a cage. Minor dings scrapes and such. Nothing major, no frame problems, just r brake lever, mirrors, minor cracks on thin bags and a small crack in the fairing. Isolators may have needed replacement. Just a bunch of small things, the ins co decided to total the bike. The insurance company was selling it back to the owner for $2500. He declined so the bike went to the ins salvage auction. I figured I'd go up to $2200-2400 range. The bike went for $3600!!!!! Needless to say, I let the sucker have it. Most S2's I've seen around here are in the 5K range. Brad |

The engine/tranny and wheels are worth close to $3K. He was no sucker. He's going to part it out. Sad but true. |

I think there is a "new" '95 on ebay right now. Has been in a showroom. I'd say around $5,000 - $5,500. For this type of money it is steal, IMHO, but that seems to be what they go for. I would look each bike over and make a list of everything that needed to be fixed or replaced. Add realistic prices to the list and subtract it from the asking price/what you considder a fair price. The used bike market, at least around here, seems pretty soft right now. You know that this will be your next bike, after an S1, don't you? |
