On the super slab the other day and saw a full dresser HD being ridden by a big guy in shorts, sandals, Hawian shirt(nothing unusual up to now right?)but he was smoking a pipe AND talking on his flip open cell phone. Good thing he was concentrating on his driving!! |

I like that guy...somehow I don't think he was looking at you and taking notes on your apparel. Rock on, random hawaiian-shirt, sandals and cell phone dude. isn't that what freedom is about? |

That's a-typical apparel for almost every Harley rider in Indiana. I've been pulled over by the police because I was wearing a helmet and it was after dark. Indiana law says newbies must wear a helmet and cannot ride after dark. Their response is when they find I've had an MC endorsement for over thirty years is, "Nobody wears a helmet in Indiana." Really? (Message edited by jb2 on July 09, 2008) |

I would have crashed... right into her so she'd have to get out and give me her insurance info. I would have been going for the "Rear end the BMW and land in the passenger seat" crash. Maybe the drivers seat . |

isn't that what freedom is about? It is until he hits me, injures me, or cost me money either directly or indirectly. Long live personal responsibility. |

I am not sure but I think the shocking thing about the bike rider is that he was smoking a pipe and talking on a cell phone. You know, it's a control the brake and throttle with your right HAND and the clutch with your left hand kind of deal. Of course unless the guy was using his feet to hold the phone...Now that WOULD be a site! A young man drove past my shop on his motorcycle with his phone in his hand...helmet on his head...I didn't notice what he was wearing because I was in shock to see he was texting while driving. That was a first for me. |

I've been looking but the closest I ever saw was some youngster in a thong laying out in her front lawn with Friday afternoon traffic for Frankenmuth driving by. I am suprised no one died. I have been waiting for a good thread to post this picture. I saw him on southbound Highway 131 by Kalamazoo in a construction zone.

Wow. I thought BMWs came with plenty of their own airbags, but she is EXTRA safe with her pair added in! The guy with the clubs isn't too bad. I'm glad pics of me on my Uly haven't surfaced - 5gal gas can instead of the top box, weedwacker strapped to the left side bag frame, chainsaw strapped to the right side, and a 2.5gal can of premix strapped to the tripletail. Hey....I had yardwork to do.... |

I was explaining to a friend the other day, that every now and then when I ride my Kawi Drifter (see fake Indian) I sometimes wear a Hawaiian shirt, shorts, flip flops, and a sh!##y helmet from 196?...all in the interest of "keepin' it real". |

A young man drove past my shop on his motorcycle with his phone in his hand...helmet on his head...I didn't notice what he was wearing because I was in shock to see he was texting while driving. You will likely see his name in the obits soon when he misses the texting cager that turns left infront of him .. Saw a youngster texting while driving the family SUV window open next to me ( I caged today ) I sat on the horn till I had the vapid look that said "uh what" I then said to the git "HANG UP AND DRIVE" You have the right to persue your happiness Until you wittingly or unwittingly try to kill me, Then it's "Outa the pool / off the road". Seriously I am thinking about the milspec helmet cam and weekly visits to the po-po for video reviews of the footage with faces & tag nos. stay tuned |

Holy Crap! No talkie while riding! I've received calls while siting on my bike at stop lights (I usually can't tell it's ringing when I'm moving) and I'll press down on the buttons through my jeans so that it answers. Then the person on the other end gets a nice earful of "Ode' de Buell" By Odie's Spec Op Orchestra. That usually lets 'em know to call back later. (Message edited by not_purple_s2 on July 09, 2008) |

WIth fuel prices so high, I have seen the local scooter population explode. Sad thing is I keep seeing attractive woman riding scooters wearing designer dress shoes. The stand out tonight was girl dressed to club. She was riding a honda metropolitan 50 wearing open toed HIGH HEELS All I could think about was how this cute girl could end up looking like spam... |

....Seem to be an awful lot of fashion police here worrying about how everyone else is dressed. Visit Europe, esp. Italy, and you'll see girls in pumps and stilettos piloting scooters on every block, and, even with the insane driving habits of their compatriots, there's little-to-no incidence of scooter accidents. Taking pictures of nimrods texting while driving, to report to the cops? ....c'mon just enjoy your ride, and avoid these dipshits |

As a 95% ATGATTer, I'm pretty serious about wearing the right gear. I'm just tired of trying to convince everybody else to be as smart as me. In fact, I've come to the conclusion that I'm the only one who knows how to dress as well as the only one who really knows how to drive in this town. So, wear what you want, baby. The added societal costs for your medical care are hidden and, since I can't see it, I don't care. Besides, let's enjoy freedom while it rings. It won't be too long before the phone gets disconnected or, at least, tapped. (note Paranoid by Black Sabbath playing in the background.) |

I have no idea how you could hold a cell phone conversation while riding a motorcycle. I can barely hear my phone when its quiet, with all the wind noise I would'nt hear a thing. |
