I picked up a used rear shock to replace by blown out one on my 2000 S3.

I installed it last night. When I went out to the garage this morning, there was drip coming from the hose between the shock and the reservoir. Is this shock dead as well?

Yes, sorry. I strongly urge you to look at a Penske or a Works. With that said there are several places that can rebuild/repair your stock Showa.
Good luck
Joe

I just put an Works on my S2.
I'll NEVER use a stock shock again.
There's that much difference.

Thanks guys.

I think I found the problem. I tightened the hose clamp down too much and might have tweaked the fitting that is above the reservoir. We will see.

I would love to get a Works/Penske, just not in the budget right now.

I am hoping this replacement shock will last this year at least.

Hey guys question about the Reservoir's I have the first recall Showa shock on my 95 S2. But have aquired 2 of the second recall shocks. I was going to send one of them out to be rebuilt, One of them has some bad road rash on the res. Does anyone know if the res on my 16.5 Showa will work on the shorter version?
